Well it's a good thing you ask cuz lots of us know exactly when it's coming out but we're just sitting around waiting until somebody bumps the thread to ask before we'll spill the beans.

Don't get me wrong - I'd like to know too (assuming we're talking about the thf version with the fixed butt flap). I'm just saying that if anybody knew when it was gonna release they'd have already said.

 

I didn't realise there was an upgraded KO of MP-22 coming out. Still haven't got around to buying an official one so maybe I'll wait and see what happens with this one. Seems like it's taking forever though...

 

I've yet to get an Ultra Magnus. I'd prefer one that scales better in bot mode if I can get it (like everyone, the dream would be for it to also scale with vehicle mode but I don't know how that's possible), but if not then I'd at least like it to not have glaring and easily-fixable issues. So the THF is already ahead of the official (sad to say).
I wonder if it will come with the human figure accessories? I'm keen to add a few more of them to my collection too.

okay so they made a collapsable buttflap, and a new-ish matrix chamber. looks like either a seperate piece or it's just painted gunmetal grey.

they seemed to also have made his gun larger and giving him some ugly bonus gun

EDIT: Oh, nvm I guess his matrix chamber isn't new. sorry I haven't seen it for awhile and forgot about it.  

 

I'd buy this if I didn't already have the original. I wonder if they will also sell the newly designed collapsible buttflap separately. And to answer my own question: From a business perspective, I highly doubt it.

 

I'm buying this as I don't have the original MP. But im not sure i'm a fan of the see through chest which makes the matrix visable....

 

It's from THF and i have really bad experience with that brand.
Their Soundwave was bad and also their Megatron.
I got them both and i know it.
Not buying any THF toys till they have better quality.

 

I don't own any of their stuff but have been very interested in this one. Other posters in the thread have suggested that THF is ok, can you mention a few issues with the figures you have? Is it plastic quality, build, etc.?

I was glad to see an update on this as I really need a UM but do not want to go TT except last resort, but I do not even know where to find THF when it does come out, and would definitely appreciate hearing from those who have had their other products so I know what to expect.

EDIT: Just realized what @MegaDarth was saying about the see-through chest, didn't notice it the first couple of times I looked at the photo. Gotta say that bugs me. Can't say yet if it's a deal breaker. And while I'm revising my post, let me just say that seeing the foldable buttflap puts the exclamation point on TT failing to make such a simple choice on the original figure.

AAAAAND EDIT: Can't believe I never noticed that the original TT UM also has a see through chest! I couldn't remember what he looked like and looked up some images and sure enough, same thing. So that particular issue can probably be relieved for me by simply not leaving the matrix in; it looks unsightly and distracting through the windows.

 

Looks cool I guess. I mean it looks like ultra Magnus. The fixed butt flap is still fixed and I'm not all that concerned with the other changes. Hope they announce price and release date soon. Good to know they're still working on it though.

And their Megatron in gun mode is aweful.
The back of the gun doesn't peg in together.
The gun barrel is really lose.
And the spot ( robot arm ) where his fusion canon goes on is really lose in gun mode and the scope swing left and right a bit.
If you check if the everything in gun mode is pointing straight forward, then no.
The gun barrel isn't pointing straight and the scope isn't either.
So i've ordered an Infinite transformation Megatron.
When that guy is here, i'm selling my THF Megatron.

At almost the end of this video i have compared it with TT vs THF Megatron.
Like i said in the video, THF plastic feels cheaper then the TT version.
I'm also not happy with the TT version i got.
Stupid TF- direct sended me a second handed one which is already opened.
And sold it to me as if it's a new one. I paid full price for it.
And yesterday i made a discovery that my TT version is broken too.
Look good at over 8 mins, 10 mins ( best to see ), 22 and 23 mins when i turned him to the back you can see on his right leg he is missing that gun thing on this leg.
And also the gun trigger was already bend.
So i'm never gonna buy anything again from TF- direct.
They facked me with this figure because i'm long range customer.

With KO's it's better to wait another year after they've released it.
This year i see so many KO's going for cheap on ebay that were way more expensive at launch.
I got a KO Shockwave for 90 usd because original one was 160.
This year i see him below 50 usd and even saw one below 40 usd.
Saw KO seekers like Thundercracker going for 40 usd too now. Which was 80-90 usd before.
Inferno and Grapple are also below 40 usd now. When they were released i think they go for 60-70 usd.
And saw KO Megatron for 50 usd. But KO Megatron don't have his eyebrows ( if you can call those eyebrows ) painted.
Also Soundwave was 80 for the KO and is now 50 usd.
These are the straight TT KO's.
So i have a new price point for KO's now.
Only buy the ones you really want when they are below 60 usd.
And the ones that are nice to add them to your collection for less, because they can go lower then 50.
Carbots i buy it below 30 usd. When calculated that i have to pay below 25 euros.
Van's like Ironhide or trucks like Inferno are a little bit more expensive because of their size.
When a KO Sunstreaker will be released, i'll wait for it to drop below 40 usd. This guy does have lots of transformation panels which makes him more expensive then other small carbots. So his price will be like those of Ironhide or Inferno's.
I mean, after seeing my Shockwave drop in price so much, it hurts.

 

I had no clue about this, will keep an eye on it.

 

Seeing as how it is from THF I'd probably hold off until some reliable reviews and customer testimonies come pouring in. I'd be a little more excited if this was coming from Yes Model/BB7 or Infinite Transformation. In any case if the quality turns out to be on par with or better than the official version then it will be a good deal especially if the price is attractive. Looks like they've also KO'd the XT Toys MP22 upgrade gun component for a bigger weapon. The other black rifle is ok. I guess you can never have too much firepower.
