I'm completely baffled since this isn't a Botcon Terrorsaur.

Maybe the club will be augmenting the Classics line with repaints and/or remolds and these Divebombs are Laserbeak and Buzzsaw?

Dude, you've been a Transfan at least 3-1/2 years. You KNOW there's no such thing as a repaint (or any other form of toy) that people won't bitch about.  

Anyway, considering the coyness levels emanating from Rik and Pete, I'd say these guys are shoo-ins (or is that "shoos-in"?) for BC'06 toys. Just not as BW show characters. I deifinitely dig the G1-Laserbeak-and-Buzzsaw-in-new-bodies theory, and could see how those guys could easily be worked into a BW Prequel story.

At any rate, I'm very happy these toys aren't Airazor and Terrorsaur.

I hear you, while I find lazerbeak and buzzsaw ideas to be sweet (if that's even who they are), I would LOVE to get divebomb as...well... divebomb LOL

Looks like my suggestion's against me when it come to this mould, cause my first thought was a G1 Divebomb. But on the second image.... is it just me or is that really a red Decepticon insignia on its Spark Crystal just to make sure?

 

I will throw my hat in with the crowd that calls these for Botcon.

I'm not 100% sold on the idea of them being Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw, but I won't mind if they do come that way.

 

I don't know about the brown one, but this Divebomb looks like it could pass itself off as a G1 Divebomb.

I also like the idea of a Buzzsaw/Laserbeak out of the two, I think they'd be a little more uniform in color tho if they were. Say a black base on the same parts for both and then another color as Red for Laserbeak and Gold for Buzzsaw.

 

I don't care what they are, they are gorgeous and will (hopefully) be mine!

Well I also thinkwe will see these as Botcon exclusives, like someone already said Rik and Pete both are quite coy with thier responses. What if, like Ravage, these are in fact Buzzsaw and Lazerbeak that work for the Tripedicus council? I think it could work from a story standpoint.

Something to think about.

The thing is, is that I dont want people to build something up in their minds and not have it be it..... I'm not able to say anything else about what these are.

 

The most unfortunate part of it all is if these are attendee-only exclusives, I'll once again be lining the pockets of scalpers and not MC or the convention.

 

I must know how, when, and where these will be released. Divebomb is my favorite Energon mold by far (excepting possibly Sharkticon), and every recolor just adds to my need for it.

 

I think it's pretty obvious - given Pete and Rik's last replies to this very thread - that these toys are indeed BC06 show exclusives.

And you know? With the confirmation of no 'Divebomb' on the set, I may actually buy a set of these guys.

Hmm, looks like Fosterlager comes closest to a fan bitching (not actually bitching, but the closest that has been seen in this thread as I'm typing it).

Well, I don't understand how anyone could have thought that this wasn't going to be a Botcon figure, given the Arcee repaints last year.

Definitely a G1 Divebomb color scheme, there is no red on this toy, just bad lighting in a couple of the pics. Even in the pics with bad lighting the top of the head is clearly orange, making the color scheme orange and black with gold highlights, which are G1 Divebomb colors.

As to the symbol...


With magnification it can be seen that it is neither an Autobot or Decepticon symbol, but more closely resembles a Decepticon symbol.

If I remember the line right it was: "After the war, some Decepticons were granted amnesty..." (I could be completely off, it's been awhile since I saw the episode).

It looks like post-Great War Divebomb, to fit in with the rest of the Botcon storyline, but I'm not sure exactly what the faction symbol is supposed to represent.

This provides no clue as to who the brown and blue repaint is supposed to represent. I do hope the 3rd repaint (if it follows last year's pattern) is Swoop. One Furman-scripted story does have him still flying around and calling himself 'The Veteran' (IIRC) as Optimus Prime passes on into the Matrix to be welcomed by Megatron.

If is Divebomb G1, is also ok ( EVERYTHING is ok, everything but Terrorsaur and Airrazor!! ), but the color scheme is not good to represent the original Predacon...

Too red and a very few yellow-gold.
