Most of the base stuff is done, but I'm wondering about the upper legs. The paint wouldn't grab and completely flaked off. I'm thinking of leaving them in the lighter gray--maybe the two-tone looks all right?

    What do you guys think?

I think the 2-tone really gives a nice subtle complexity and depth of design. Looking nice! :thumb

That's the best 'Scream repaint I've seen!! (Though, it makes me nervous to hear the paint wouldn't hold to the upper legs...)

    Thanks.

As for the paint not taking, I'm using SEM Vinyl spray paint, with a touch of acetone to it. Some of the toy parts are made more durable for wear and tear, and those are the components that the paint seems to flake off of.

The issue is addressed by BOGGS6ft7 in this thread:

Anyway, I have him reassembled and touched up. The only thing missing really are the wing stripes, but I kinda like him clean. I'm still debating with myself what I'm going to do on that note.

I'll have updated pics later on

I really like the clean look. (though I'll be adding Decepticon symbols for sure) What do you guys think? With or without the red stripes?

add the red stripes - but make them very subtle if you can.

The plain look of the jet mode would be fine if it were the whole jet. The red and blue showing on the side ruin the effect. You should go anime with him. Stripes on the wings and blue tailfins to match the rest of the blue on him.

Well, sorry for taking so long. Finally got the details I wanted done:

I was sparse on the details on the back. I didn't want a full blue tail, but I didn't want it too boring either. While the usual 'red stripe' on the rudder has two 'tails' going horizontal from the top, I just settled on the one angular stripe instead.

As for insignia, I REALLY want to put transparent ones down instead of chrome-backed, but I don't have any and don't really need an entire sheet from reprolabels.

And the robot mode. I painted the panels the arms attach to, as well as the sides (leaving a section alone for the 'belt'). Plus, I painted up inside the helmet where it meets with the faceplate. The face I've left alone....MAY go back and chrome it someday. Eh...

Better shots of the sides and under the arms. Repainted the vent housing on the shins. I also left the legs in two-tone. (again, because the vynil spraypaint didn't grab) It really doesn't look half bad. Plus, leaving the guns unpainted will give the second tone a little more presence.

Well, there we are, mostly. Some 'Con stickers and I'll be calling it. TC is next. :)
