My brothers are the total opposite. One of them has bought me several cool pieces for my collection along the years including a complete set of Omnibots and a Bludgeon, the other is cool with it but his girlfriend and her family are totally "wow cool you have so many awesome toys!"

Guess I am lucky with that one. I know of others whose families are less supportive.

I believe that's the question here, anyone else have siblings who don't support your hobby?

Nope. My older brother supports it when he can.

My sister has bought me figures though not the ones I want, but its the thought that counts. She was even the one who told me to take out my figures and play and display them rather than holding them MISB. My brother doesn't care and he is a big fan of Soundwave and Bruticus so I can't sell those two down the line if I wanted to.

Brothers and sisters? No not at all though my brother did wonder what the point of collecting is.

My sisters are unappreciative of my collecting hobby and only nag me occasionally. Only because I tend to overspend every month.. :lol

Negative, I'm a 30 year old, college educated man, smart enough to make his own decisions.

Yes. My brother can be a dick sometimes. He tells me to sell them and do something properly. He is younger than me so I can and do ignore him, plus I don't need to put up with bs like that. Nearly everybody has some kind of hobby, be it weird, quirky whatever, nobody has the right to tell you to do otherwise unless it somehow directly affects other people, if not the complainers can stfu.

My parents like to offer their share of negativity about my hobbies, but it's not a big deal. I stopped caring about stuff like that years ago, and I encourage anyone else to do the same. Like anything else, its only harmful if it gets in the way of more important things, and if its something you enjoy, then negative opinions from others are meaningless, especially when pushed toward you with malice.

My 2 younger brothers don't really support it. The youngest can appreciate it and doesn't mind taking a look at the new cool figure here and there but he doesn't want to hear it all the time. The other one says I'll have to sell them one day, its an addiction, waste of money, won't want them when I'm in my 30s or 40s, just toys, etc.

It is what it is. I know I love TFs and will keep many of them til the day I part from this earth. Transformers kick ass and at least we all know it here!!! :)

My brother tells me I'm "too old for toys". Really, the only toys I buy lately are Transformers figures and on very rare occasions, Star Wars or Bionicles (Hero Factory, whatever). He has a lot of nerve considering he wastes his money on hard liquor every day of his life. There's other things he does that would be considered weird to the public eye but I'm not gonna get into it.

Well, we're both adults, but I know she is sometimes surprised at how much I can spend on toys but I don't think she's ever dissed me because of it. Additionally, her husband is completely jealous of me :p

    *Looks around me*

Everyone in my family (including my in-laws) are not supportive in me collecting plastic cracks.

For too often a time, I hear stuffs like: "Why don't you try collecting money as a hobby instead?" :lol

My sister and my sisters friends make fun of me for it. Whatever, they don't matter to me. My parents hate it, too. I hate my family. The people that are cool with it are my friends and my girlfriend, and they're the only ones that matter.

    ^ That's what I did. :p

But unfortunately, that "excuse" didn't went down well in their throats.

I'm lucky my sister and mom are both very supportive, they give me TF stuff. I also give my nephew TF figures because he is also a fan.
