lol@ watching Prime in standard def.

Here's my story: I was watching season 2 episode 1 on Youtube and it really seems like the quality of animation went downhill compared to season 1, which I was watching on Blu-Ray yesterday. :drunk

Their your problem. Your watching the Season 2 on Youtube, not on Blu-Ray.

Quality of animation =/= video quality.

I don't see the animation decline is quality. It hasn't made leaps and bounds, but it certainly not worse.

Really?!! You mean Youtube 320p is not an accurate representation of what the series looks like on Blu-Ray?!! Gosh, that is disappointing news. I was wondering why season 2 looks so much blurrier than season one... Maybe that explains it.

Yeah, usually when people record the shows on TV and put them on YouTube, the quality does tend to decrease, and it doesn't look as sharp. It's just an unfortunate side effect of the process. I believe Blu-Ray style quality is at least 720p, so if you can watch it that way, it may help a lot in terms of viewability. :thumb

How exactly? Personally I think the animation now looks tons smoother than the first few episodes. Just look at that transformation from the season 2 episode 8 clip and try telling me that's not improved.

Nope. No sarcasm here at all.

Well, you have to take not only the overall shiney-ness of the robots, but the deep engraved detail that they have on them, where as later on in the series... Toy accuracy seems to take favour as the models become more and more muddled.

Though, I am more a fan of the Camera workings in the first two episodes of DR as, it makes everything more serious and dramatic, where as, as the show progresses, it feels more like a sitcom...with robots.

Can't say I share those sentiments. Still not exactly sure what you mean by the models becoming more "muddled." They look off in Metal Attraction but everywhere else they're at least the same if not improved; including battle damage, settle body movements, and much more smooth mouth animation.

Oh really? I had no idea, he sounded so legitimately confused as to why the YouTube viewings were blurrier than those his Blu-Ray disk. I guess I still have a ways to figure out people typing on the internet. Thanks though, man. God bless. :)

I've seen a few shoulder panels phase through the body sometimes.

I agree, some episodes did seem more poorly lit/animated than others, especially after the quality we received in Darkness Rising. However, there were a few episodes that shined and were even better. It all goes with the time constraints of the business, I suppose.

Odd. Except for Megatron vs. Optimus I always thought Darkness Rising looked pretty bad compared to later episodes. The mouth movement in Darkness Rising is particularly crappy. The only thing it really has going for it is the cool camera work.
