So, I decided to start a new TF:A project (multi-phase) the other day. The inspiration came after looking at some new pics of the forthcoming Takara-Tomy Wingblade Optimus. I had also been playing with my Cybertron Wingsaber, too, so that helped. The design stays pretty true to the original toy, obviously, but just looking at the original character, I decided it already looked funky enough to fit in well with a little tweaking. By hinting that I got this idea from looking at Wingblade, the idea is also that this guy will form a sentient upgrade for Optimus Prime's armor, which I am working on. So yes, it will combine, and I'm hoping to finish up a combined form for the two of them soon. For Gundam fans, I'm thinking halfway between the G-Falcon from X and the original Sonic Convoy. Hope you all like it, I'm also including an alt mode--I don't usually like drawing vehicle modes, but I thought I'd throw it in. :p

Damn he's shiny..! XD I really like his alt mode, really funky!

Everything looks pretty clean. The one thing though that sticks out for me is the shine glare on his left forearm. I think the shinyness is too even... like it's more of a pattern, rather than it being a shiny surface...If that's understandable. XD

But if it is a pattern, my bad!

thanks for the comments :thumbs2:  yeah, I debated long and hard about whether or not to add that second stripe of shine (the one to the left-hand side of his left arm)--maybe I should have left it out. On the other hand, the original Japanese toy had a lot of chrome if I recall :p

Thanks for all the replies guys! I'm posting an update now, as I will likely have part two done by today or tomorrow. I've finished drawing the combined mode with Prime, and now I'm trying to decide on what to put in for a background.
