Here's another one of my sketches. It's less polished, but I like how it came out. Dunno how people will feel about WJ without his facemask, but it's still there in battle mode ;)  I had this idea that he should look something like Doc Brown from Back to the Future, but it kinda melted into the concept of mad scientist. I tried to emulate a lab coat in a way, and the bald head plate just seemed right, it made the ear flaps look more like crazy hair ;)

Oh, I like that! Especially the Doc Brown inspiration. Do you plan in refining that into a finished piece? I'd love to see some more action poses of this guy. Someone needs to send this to Hasbro with a post-it reading "This is how you do it, guys. Get on it!"

Man, that's fantastic. I'd love animated wheeljack to show up in the real series. Awesome, awesome work.

Wheeljack is probably my favourite G1'er and I totally dig this.

I love it, maybe the legs could be a little thicker, not much to stay in the style of Animated, but I really like this sketch, a lot :)

I always saw Wheeljack as the local garage mechanic who was just a whiz with machines. Or the mad scientist who was just shy of nuts, so it was more about reigning in his genius rather than letting him solve problems.

Perceptor was the smart one ;)

I love the characterization and the facemask/collar is a really good innovation for blending G1 with animated. The big wrench is a nice touch too. Nice work.

Awsome concept! i really like it, especially the fact that you based it off of Doc Brown/ incorporated a 'lab coat'.

    Cool,
I like that it's not just a slimmed down version of the G1 design.

It is a website where artists can post their art online, and get exposure and be seen by other artists and fans. I guess in a crude way it is a MYSPACE for artists. A large number of TF artists have accounts on DA and lots of the comic book previews from IDW come from there.

Not only is it a good way to share your art, but a great way to see other people's stuff.

Here is mine as an example:
    http://nkelsch.deviantart.com/

If your art was on DA, I would +fav it and then everyone who sees my page would then see your art and so on.

It is worth checking out, a majority of the people in this thread have a DA account.
