Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong or if I have a faulty Animated Voyager Prime?

When transforming him into robot mode, I press that button to release his legs, but nothing really happens. I watched a video review of him afterwards, and to my surprise, his legs are supposed to spin around and automorph into position. Yeah, mine just releases them half an inch and then it stops. I can manually spin it, but I shouldn't have to!

Is it broken? I tried checking out the gears on it and the one I can see looked intact. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I think first you have to tilt the cab forward a bit, not really sure anymore. I remember there being some sort of lock to keep him into place, at least for robot mode back to vehicle..maybe the other way round as well.

It's also possible yours is just a bit stiff..I don't think mine transforms all the way either, but it's definitely not broken.

It wasn't the best gimmick. Mine is always hit or miss. It seems sometimes you have to spin it up into place just right to have it work properly.

It's not broken; the (I assume) torsion spring in his torso isn't very strong. It really only gets going if you, a) push the legs, or b) keep Prime's body parallel to the ground and let the weight of the legs get the spinning started.

Yeah it was not thought out well. I usually just put them into place physically.

The first time I transformed mine he did it perfectly, but now he only does it right every once in a while. I guess its just a matter of getting everything lined up and locked into place right before activating it.

you got to wind it up properly when transforming it back to truck in order to get it to work usually when going back to robot mode

Thanks everyone, I feel better about him now. He's actually a really cool fig, even with that leg gimmick.

When transforming him, I just go, "Fuck it.", and forcefully twist it down/up.

It is quite possibly one of the worst gimmicks in Transformers history. I know the who trick to getting it to lock into place properly, but honestly, you have to be so precise, it's ridiculous. (At least on mine.)

I don't mind the gravity spin for truck to robot mode. I still don't think I've figured out how to get it back into truck mode. I just pick a random starting point and start twisting in reverse. Sometimes he goes into truck mode, and sometimes I have to start over.
