I personally think this would be a good way to bring back Transmetals(even if this isn't Beast Wars.)
This is how they could do it.
The Autobots and the Decepticons would be fighting for the AllSpark. The AllSpark would let some energy blast and it would hit them. (Obviously) transforming them into transmetals.
I, for one would enjoy seeing transmetals again!

 

I understand what Transmetals are in a Beast Wars context. You might have to explain what Transmetals are in a TF:Animated context.

 

Personally, I would rather have them not include any Transmetals. If just because I'm not a big fan of chrome on TF toys. It would also be kind of weird to explain in the show, imo. On another hand, I wouldn't mind seeing more techno-organics like Black Arachnia. I don't think we've got any official confirmation, but, I've heard that Waspinator is supposed to appear in the show at some point.

 

I don't really see how transmetas would work for transformers that are already purely mechanical. It made sense when they went from the totally organic looking beast modes to the half organic looking half robot looking modes of the transmetals, making the robot mode more organic and the beast mode more mechanical.

How would it work in animated? Just make shiny transformers? Would this only be for technorganic transformers like blackaracnia?

Only Transmetal I want to see right now is a certain arachnid. Who conveniently was completely incinerated in another reality when his own weapon backfired on him while he was under attack by beings who can TRAVEL THROUGH SPACE AND TIME.

 

I don't think that doing cross dimensional characters is a good idea. I like that they are doing their own versions. I would like to see more beast wars characters added in, perhaps as another race of transformers or go with the blackaracnia story and have them be autobots and decepticons that were trapped on an all organic planet. Maybe they could become transmetal when trying to reformat their bodies into purely mechanical bots.

I can't see why they would after giving the animated line it's own distinct asthetic and the matte paint.

 

On one hand, I would love this. On the other, I'm sorta feeling the distinct seperation of the continuities. Mixing 'em might muddy the waters a little too much.

Now, a similar but independent Tarantulas might be awesome. Tied to Unicron would work also, since eventually I'm gonna wanna see him in Animated. Just hoping they wait a LONG while to make the payoff worth it.

I love chrome. I love matte paint. I'm not sure I want to see the two meet.

Is matte chrome even possible?  

 

See, the idea I have in my head is that he was shunted into this reality inadvertedly by the Vok. And that his plan is to harness the Allspark and use its power to conquer this Cybertron and all others.

And Blackarachnia would be involved as she's the only specimen in this universe who exists concurrently in his universe - she's thus the key to him being able to return to his own world.

 

I would love to see dinobot come back in his velociraptor mode and possibly be a transmetal...not a transmetal 2.....

ALso they better have dinobots snarl and sludge or Ill be pissed!!

Minicons aren't really a gimmick anymore since Armada went away.

I'll take an Animated Goldbug (i.e. a Chromed Up Bumblebee)

And depending on the details of BA's organics-integrating backstory, there could be room for more BW era-ish characters to show up.

 

Former, maybe, the latter, no.

That stuff can stay in Universe to be honest, TF: A is it's own gimmick thus far, and I would like it to stay that way.

Headmasters....God no.

Combiners...eh, they really are only great when the components themselves don't suck when not combined, IMO.
