So far the Hasbro line looks much better and a lot more accurate.

Definitely Hasbro. I don't understand Takara's obsession with making their figures shiny, whether it's the paint on these new Animated toys or chrome on the Henkei figures.

i prefer hasbro 100%, though i like the shiny paint adn chrom of the henkei figs, for animated i think hasbro pretty much nailed it. i would however like to get blackout...only because i havent seen a hasbro release of him yet :)

Hasbro. I have what I want (except for a few figs of course) and really don't need a shiny new version that's more expensive. I don't like the new paintjobs anyways.

Hasbro. It's just down to show accuracy. The shiny and chrome works fantastic for other lines, but since Animated is mostly a matte color scheme in the first place it actually works against the figures. "Ironhide" for example is extremely blah.

Though I will nab any new molds that they happen to release over there since hasbro hasn't shown if they are even going to release them. It's a miracle we got Ratchet and Arcee.

    Hasbro, by far.

There are only two temptations with Takara, the first obviously being any unreleased figures, and even then I'm going to try to give Hasbro a chance to release them rather then just rushing to Takara, but I'm not going to wait forever and miss out either. Second is if they do Leader Megatron in a worthwhile way; I love the mold and it seems to me that the altered mold that Shadowblade Megs uses is better then the first release that Megs got. So a sharp color scheme that really pops without being random chrome and weird colors along with the improved mold would certainly be a strong temptation, even if it's just along the same lines as the Voyager has already gotten.

The Takara ones look awful, so Hasbro.

I never had a problem with Hasbro's. The colors all seemed fine even if there were sometimes sloppy apps. Maybe Takara's would look better for display, but I won't know since I just won't spend the money to find out.

Hasbro. The only thing I like about takara's is the accurate faction symbols.

Another checkmark on the Hasbro side of the board for me. Maybe an exception for Blackout, though I would mod that to cartoon-style beady eyes.

I'll take extra paint bling if that's the only way to get Rodimus, Ironhide (the non-Bulkhead one :)  ) and company though.

    Hasbro.

Show accurate (except for Cybertron mode Megatron and Starscream).

The box art look much better.

The only downside is the ugly Silver Autobot logo and Gold Decepticon logo. And Voyager Optimus Prime not having a single logo (I know the later batch fixed that but it never arrived in Canada).

I can't say I prefer TakTom version, but I do like their voyager Prime. I like it as a different version of Prime.

Habro. The only thing I like Takara's versions more about is that the symbols are colored correctly, while Hasbro caused most of the TF:A figs to have silver and gold symbols (and in the original Leader Animated Megatron's case; THE WRONG COLOR ALL TOGETHER!). Still, that's why Reprolabels exists.

As with the overwhelming majority of this thread, Hasbro. Matte finish is where it is at when you go for a smooth clean look. Shine just pulls attention to the flat surfaces instead of the smooth look.

I have to say Hasbro as well. I far prefer the flat look of the Hasbro paint to the shine of TakaraTomy's. I had thought about holding out for the TakaraTomy Arcee, since it's unlikely we'll be getting the Hasbro release in Taiwan, but after seeing what they did the face, I'm glad I got Arcee in a trade.

Though if the only way I can get Rodimus and Blackout is by getting the TakaraTomy version, then I'll be having a bit of shine in my Animated display.

Hasbro by far, but I'm definitely picking up Bumblebee and Bulkhead from Takara. Yes, they're not accurate, but I already have accurate Hasbro toys..these are just extra for fun! And they're better looking than say..Mudbuster Bulkhead.
