it actually looks good. it's a challenge to come up with a combiner of this class and the thought process that goes with the composition is something to be commended. however, i just want to suggest some things if you wont mind some constructive criticisim. It does help you become better at what you will be doing on your next project/s. 1) The thighs seem to disapear, or, they are somewhat a tad unproportioned. Try to lengthen and widen them so that they will have some meat on to that "visually skinny" look. 2) I would agree with some of the comments here that the torso seem to be pushing it a bit on the longer side. However it seems to look proprtioned when you're viewing it from bust up with the arms. Overall, the composition of the combiner seems to look like an Ape due to the slightly longer fore-arms. Again, this looks alright with the bust up, but considering that you have smaller thighs, this makes it unproportioned. 3) the legs seem to widen a bit, or when it stands, the thigs seem to squat. Maybe it's just me, but i guess a little work on it would do. A question though: where does all the parts go when you take the individual bots apart? These are just my take on it..but trust me, this is one cool custom that you've made and i salute you for a job well done. Good luck on your future projects and i know you will be getting better at what you're doing.
Animated combiner = WIN!!! I agree with others that the proportions are a little off but I couldn't fabricate anything close to this myself. I think it's great just that you did it. perfect - no awesome - most definitely!
Thanks for all the feedback, folks. In the end I decided to only stretch out the legs a bit: the long-armed, short-legged, primitive look didn't work so well for a combiner. I've added pictures of the new version to the starting post. He is still top-heavy, with big shoulders and arms, to project a physical look.
combiner is a lot of fun to tinker on when there's time. didn't realise there's another TFA menasor thread. your stunticons repaint looks good, i like your dragstrip. does your motormaster has a trailer in altmode.
your version looks very very good... i've been working on one for years... but its on the back burner... i still need to figure out some stability issues for one of the legs....everything else is pretty much done.
Hello I know how you feel, Hater06, the weight creeps up on you and suddenly some big changes are needed to keep the whole thing stable. I do like your spiky head and spiky toes. Meisterworks, yours is coming along nicely too. Will you lock Motormaster/Optimus' knee joint in the combined mode? Oh, and no, there's no trailer for Motormaster (mainly because there wasn't one for Optimus). Cheers, Dischord
opps.. sorry for the late reply. that's as deep as the thigh will go down for motorMASTER in menasor mode. thanks for your compliment.
I like it. The neck and thighs seem a bit thin, but it looks nice. Also, wouldn't the Bumblebee figure make a better Breakdown?
Yes, there are parts which are a bit on the thin side. I made what I thought were the best trade-offs. I picked a ball joint for the neck to give Menasor the ability to look all around. The legs were from Rollout Command Optimus, which I selected for their Animated aesthetic. I'm not sure, Sideways77, why you think that Bumblebee would have been better for Breakdown, but I'd be interested to find out. In the next couple of days, I will be posting a suitable opponent for Menasor. Those of you who came by my stand at TFCon (cheers, T4mercustomz) will likely be able to guess. Cheers, Dischord
i have tried BB as lockDOWN. it has a built-in leg mode as well. I understand ur reason for jazz as breakDOWN, looks good straight on with some paint work.
