    FINISHED!!
    Here we go again! I'm doing this figure as a commission for board member, Sharpfinger. This will be duplicating and improving upon my previous version of Springer here;
    I plan on shortening the "Leno" chin that several people pointed out, and adding some more yellow to his truck mode. Currently, this is a work-in-progress, but I'll add more as I go along on this figure!

    2-8-12: Added an image of the head work-in-progress. So far, so good, still needs the rest of the helmet (once he dries),and then smoothing everything out. Definitely looking better without the giant chin.

    2-10-12: New picof the head - The head is complete! (except for some final sanding/smoothing once it's fully dry)
    Really dig this head more than on my first figure of him. (tempted to cast this head!)

    2-14-12: Weather has not been cooperating for spraying, but I did get the base coat of green on! And that pic with the Legos looks suspiciously like a mold being cast ;-)

    2-15-12: Woot! The cast worked! Just a little more clean-up on the head and it's ready for paint!

    2-20-12: Had a few setbacks with paint (had to completely strip the chest and forearm panels back down to the plastic and start over!) But, got the head casts cleaned up - kinda cool to have multiple heads! Anyone want one, or their own Springer? Ha!

    2-22-12: Got all the parts painted - letting him dry fully, and will reassemble him tonight! Then he can get shipped out to Sharpfinger on Friday/Saturday of this week!

    2-24-12: Almost there! Figure is fully assembled, just needs a few spots of touch-up, and his faction decal!

    2-26-12: Finished! Painted, decals, and I think I'm pleased with how this guy turned out! (Gonna have to make myself one pretty soon!)

    You should make a cast of that head! Your sculpting skills are off the hook!

    Bumped with an update on the head. I think I'm really pleased with the head this time! Tempted to cast this head (I need a Springer back in my collection again!) - wonder if anyone else would be interested in it?

    The head looks much better with the smaller chin.
    Can't wait to see it finished!

    That's a good head. For the harder angles, corners, you should use an exacto knife and carve. If you sand, you'll just round them out.

    Yeah, I'd make a purchase of that head if you cast it. Making an An. Springer out of S. Prime would be a fun if I didn't have the sculpt my own head!

    Great looking work! What materials do you use for the mold and the cast itself? I've been using latex for the mold, but it's slow and rather messy...

    I used a kit from Alumilite - it's a silicone based material for the mold, and a 2 part resin plastic for the piece. Seems to work pretty well - just be sure to read the instructions and watch some examples on their website
