Hey guys! You've all inspired me to create my own customs!

Slipstream here is my 3rd custom, the other 2 I'll post soon. Her head, guns, and hips have been retooled a bit. I liked Shinobitron's side gun idea on his G1 Starscream, so I incorporated it into Slipstream.

Sorry if the pics are a bit funky. This is my first post so don't slap me!

I've got a question, too. I use Aves Apoxie Fixit Sculpt and I've been having trouble getting it to look smooth. After I dremel it, the apoxie still looks rough and terrible through the paint. Have any suggestions on how to make it smoother and nicer looking? Thanks!

not to be the negative one she looks great, but think you should do something about her man hands. They seem a little bulky and out of place

She looks great, but as I say with all Slipstream figures, lose some bulk, keep the shoulder pads but seriously trim the biceps, that way she looks thinner while keeping the screamer look, the forearms just become glove-like. If it didn't hinder transformation I'd say give her some hips but as I said it might hinder her.

nice job. what kind of paints did you use?
did you try sanding the sculpted parts to smoothen it out?

Try using a higher grade sand paper to smooth out. Maybe even 1000 to 1500 grit. Looks nice!

@ the RAt: You're not being negative at all! I love feedback on how to make them look better! The hands bothered me, too but being an inexperienced mooder, I didn't want to completely destroy the original parts. I'm real afraid of doing that!

@ Primus feather: Ah! Believe or not, I did shave her biceps down, but I couldn't do it too much or it wouldn't lock into the other joints properly. I was thinking of making a female seeker from an animated blackarachnia mold because of it's feminine features. The hard part for me is getting 'em to transform after I've modded them! Guess it just takes experimenting and practice.

@ s march: I used Testors Model Master Acrylics. I didn't think of hand sanding it, silly me!

@ SonOfNemesis: A ha! Thanks a bunch for the advice! I am definitely going to use the technique. ;)

Pretty Nice! :thumb  The colours work suprisingly well but can I ask a favour - Do you mind taking one more pic on a light-background so that her details can really "pop"? :)

So, You signed-up about a year ago & this is only your 1st post? Why I ought to... :D :lol

I never considered the Biceps to be structural? shoulders yes, arms of course, but the biceps just take up space? I think as long as you don't compromise the plastic that attaches to the body trimming it down should be fine just throw in some filler putty and presto instant fem-arms. keep in mind I don't have my own mold in front of me so this is strictly theory.
