I already have the regular Prowl, I was just wondering what some people's opinions are on the samurai version. I have a feeling if I pass him up now, he'll be hard to find at a decent price. Any thoughts?

He's a great figure to have. The add on sidecar is just awesome. Sure he has some flaws but nothing worth skipping out on.

It doesn't have much play value. The articulation is horribly limited with the armour on.
Basically, it is a WORSE Prowl with some armour that makes him look super cool.

If you take the armor off, he has more articulation then the original. However, it comes at a price- He only has a few paint apps now and his ninja stars don't do anything, they're molded shut. Swap them with your original Prowl, paint his fingers, and sell/give away the first Prowl! That's what I did.

He kicks the original Prowl's ass. I say get him, even if his articulation is limited. Oh, and you can swap the functional starts with the original's.

it's cool, but take note that they squished his head so it'll fit into the helmet. It's not the same head at all.

Plus what was said, unpainted hands, no ninja stars, no red/blue lights just blue. And the helmet is hooked to the armor, so it's hard to really turn his head properly.

    but yes, he looks neat.

I still prefer the original, but I think I'm alone in that.

I'm with you. Original Prowl is much better.

maybe we should make one thread about "is this worth a penny" toy ... so people asking is it a good buy or not in one place.

in other hand .. samurai prowl is great buy!

Definitely worth getting; Samurai Prowl is one of the highlights of the Animated line.

For display purposes: yes. For playing with...not so much. I don't know if it's just my particular Samurai Prowl but his legs constantly pop off if I even so much as look at them wrong. But overall he is a very neat figure even with all of the drawbacks mentioned above (I do wish I had the original Prowl so I could give him those ninja stars...). Definitely recommended!

He's a bit top heavy with the armours on, and leg joints are loose on mine, but he looks really good and I love him.

Even not being a fan of the Animated line, it's hard to deny the awesomeness of Prowl's toy. A different headsculpt and I may have added him to my collection.

Personally, it looks like the armor takes away more than it adds, so I prefer the regular version.

Considering it's just about the same toy, get the samarai version. And if you don't want the armor put it in storage. For the same price, why would you pass up on a few extras.
