So I had an extra Animated Wreck-Gar layin' about and got the urge to statr another project. The new chest/grill will be made completely of styrene and will be attached via post with spring so that you just pull it; twist it 180*, it retracts and bam! The rear tires are now off the arms to allow for his pipes (from Clocker). The rearmost tire is on a hinge that folds into the trailer and the middle tires will flip behind his forearms like G1 Crosshairs rear tires. His smokestacks are from Animated Jazz and the head will be a completely new mold. Stay tuned, kiddies!
Thanks bud! I think I'm gonna use the gimmick that exists in his backpack for the wings. Either that or just make them really small and flip out from his biceps. That may look better for the animated theme.
Wow! I love this idea! Are you going to do any remodeling to the cab to make it look "sportier"? (I looked it up, it's a real word
Yes sir. Already covered up the "ribs" on the back with styrene, gonna add the flames and maybe curve the back end a bit.
I've gotta give you major props for thinking out-of-the-box! I just wouldn't have envisioned a Wreck-Gar mold becoming the basis of Rodimus... *scratches head* I'm guessing the Animated Hot Rod figure has got those creative juices flowing?
Actually I made an Animated Hotrod a while back out of a Jazz and ever since I had planned this one. The animated Rodimus is very cool looking tho and I will own it.
I couldn't help but lol at simply the idea of Hot Rod going from a super-sleek tweaked-out super car to a Winnebago to a garbage truck!
man i remember when you finished up your Animated Hot Rod way back last year and that thing was entirely badass. this is just pure win my friend. great work!
Thanks! I was originally gonna incorporate that Hotrod into the figure in an "add-on" armor way, but I've always wanted to see a self contained Rodimus. Like the Titanium one but less clunky.
