Which one of the two is superior? Dont count price in the evaluation, if possible. just trying to decide which one to get. anyone have pics?

I think Hasbro is more accurate to the show, but Takara's paint is more accurate to G1 and blings it a bit.

5 days? Really? I have one on order from BBTS but, I'd rather find one for $12 vs $30. Damn it. Why do my local TRUs have to be so slow at getting things!!!

I think the Hasbro one might still be too red compared to the animation model.

Takara one's colors are closer to the animation model... but it's also very shiny, not sure if it really fits in with the 'flat' look of Hasbro's animated toys.

Ya I am hoping to find a Hasbro one since from the pics I've seen the Takara one appears too 'ruby' red to me. I much prefer the flatter tones of the Hasbro one.

I know I'll have both (got the US one already) so I'll take pics for the Cool Stuff thread at some point unless someone beats me to it. Someone probably will cause I'm lazy like that, but just in case.

Actually having both the animation model (courtesy of the Almanac 2) and the figure side-by-side, no. And Takara Rodimus is far to maroon, almost purple.

    Got TakaraTomy's version yesterday.

He's actually molded in the same reddish maroon plastic as Hasbro's then painted over. Only the unpainted bits of plastic on the ankles and bow are cast in a matte purple-ish plastic.

Roddy's my third TakaraTomy Animated figure and my first shiny one. The other two were Arcee and Shockwave which didn't receive the metallic treatment. Interestingly, the deep gloss metallic finish is achieved by first painting the figure in a coat of silver paint before applying a colored clear coat. You can see the silver paint on the undersides or edges of some parts like the feet. The orange on his crest isn't too well painted. The orange paint doesn't seem to adhere too well over the metallic paint coat under it.

Waiting for my Hasbro version to arrive to really compare the two. I think my ideal version would probably be TakaraTomy's colors in a matte finish. Now that I've finally handled a shiny Animated figure, I much prefer the matte finish used on most of Hasbro's figures.

Well someone will definitely beat me to taking pics, I just shipped my loot on Saturday and Rodimus arrived at BBTS today, so I doubt I'll ship him out anytime soon.

The 1st run of the Hasbro version isn't matte. I'm hoping they do a running change like they did with the arcees.
