Sounds like this is Rodimus PRIME. Not Hot Rod or Rodimus.

I like the Rodimus Prime quite a bit. Tho I do have a few questions about him that'll have to wait untill a later date to be answered.

    1. What does he turn into?

He looks like he could be another space winnebago, but he's missing too much mass. I suppose he could have a separate back half that becomes a gun platform like his G1 counterpart, but then he wouldn't need the bow. That is unless he becomes a cab only vehicle like Optimus.

    2. Where would the toy store his bow?

I was thinking it could be stored in his spoiler, but then it could just be his spoiler too.

    3. What kind of character will he be?

If he's like his G1 Hot Rod self, hotheaded and reckless? Or like his G1 Rodimus Prime self, insecure and full of doubt. Maybe he could be like his Energon self and be a hard case. Kinda like a Nick Fury sort of leader and his team is like the Wreckers.

So many questions and too much time to have to wait to find out.

Correct me if I'm wrong but no toys have been confirmed for Rodimus Prime or Strika, have they? Haven't we also been told that not all characters for season 3 will get toys?

It may not be a good idea to get excited about toys of these characters just yet.

A Hot Rod/Rodimus is not a matter of IF, but when. It's just the way it is. The same can't be said about Strika

Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime is an obvious Hawkeye homage what with the bow, arrow(s) and the crown design around his head which resembles Hawkeye's mask. Even the darker brown used is reminiscent of the purple on Hawkeye's costume.

I think it could attach to his spoiler, but it can't actually be his spoiler because we can see that in this picture.

What, like "Comedy Whipping Boys Anonymous"? Yeah, something like that might help the poor chaps. Kelly from Robots in Disguise would be there too, and Tutor Bot could moderate it. "Good morning, fellow fall guys! Today's lesson is: the crushing, unending pain that is out lives." It could be very therapeutic... :)

I was thinking it might be the front bumper, myself. Actually, the first time I read Hiro Prime's post, I though "Yeah, that's probably it" because I somehow read "spoiler" as "bumper".

Rodimus Prime + Robin Hood = :jawdropper: :bay   (faints and revives from awesomeness!)

THANK YOU HASBRO for combining my favorite Autobot with my favorite literary character ever!

MUST HAVE TOY! Same with Strika, though she looks a little too pink. How about Voyager Rodimus and Leader Strika that sounds in scale right?
Seriously, WE NEED TOYS OF THESE TWO!

As for how to do the bow, I love the idea of it being the spoiler, but bumper would work too, especially since he still has his spoiler in robot mode, but maybe the bow attaches underneath it or something. He still has the exhaust port guns in the pic too, so I don't think those turn into his arrows like they did with Jazz's nunchucks, though it would be cool.

I would hope Hasbro would take a cue from the DC Justice Green Arrow toy as a posible hand sculpt for him to hold the bow. It doesn't quite allow for a vertical attacking pose with the bow, but it does allow for a horzontal nocking the bow position, with the fingers scupted on the right hand to be able to hold both the arrow and the string of the bow, something I have never seen on an archery based figure before, maybe LOTR has an attack postion too, but it is very posible to mould a toy hand these days for an archer character, I would hope and be disapointed otherwise if Hasbro didn't try to achieve it for the Rodimus toy.

As for which comic character Rodi looks like - forget both Hawkeye and GA, much as I love both, this one belongs to Red Arrow or should that be Rod Arrow - red and yellow all the way!

Hawk Rod? Rod Arrow? Rodin Hood? Which nickname suits our Rodi best?
