    Quick FYI post....

I've told a few people about this privately, but I thought I would pass the word along to everyone else around here....

Anyway, just like the black plastic on Lockdown's hands and the extra bit of plastic on Bumblebee's stingers that won't allow them the fold in all the way, the "crotch block" on Prowl is 100% unnecessary. In fact, it's mechanically more sound if you remove it.

Said unsightly block went through a number of changes and was ultimately introduced at a point when it was believed necessary to align and lock the front wheel into place. However, a little notch on the underside of the front wheel well was added to allow everything to lock VERY snugly into place. The crotch block often prevents it from doing so and is, as I said, 100% unnecessary.

It's best if you carefully go at it with a surraded steak knife (ouch!) and then use a bit of sandpaper or an emery board to remove any extra plastic and smooth everything out. Worry not, because of the matte finish, this plastic sands VERY well with no sign of tampering.

So, liberate your Prowl from this hideously embarrassing robotic man lump! It makes one the best Transformers figures of all time even better.

Spread the word, and good luck!

    :)

Prowl is no longer the man he used to be.

If this doesnt actually hinder anything then I'll be doing this when I get mine.

You know I think that crotch extension is there for a purpose. I believe it will be used for his armor.

The crotch block is for his foot to line up. It isn't for the armour since there are no armour peices that attach there.

I was about to say the same thing. It would suck for everyone to cut it off and then it serve some unknown purpose...
But we don't even know if the armor will be sold seperately, meaning you'd have to get another Prowl anyways, so there's no loss.
Well, at least I have this super great awesome cool traffic light thingy that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever... :gen069:

The foot lines up just fine. All you do is push the foot up into place once you lock the knee in under the wheel well. You'll notice that even with the block in place, it doesn't even really make contact with the slot on the bottom of the foot.

    Awesome beyond words.

Armor won't be sold seperately, and that version of Prowl has a few extra bits and bobs on his cycle to attach to the sidecar.

I think the armour won't be sold separately, because they'd probably have to slightly retool Prowl so the armour stays on.

I agree...wtf? I have plans to mod mine into a USB flash drive, with an LED to light up one, if not all of the lights. Why? For the same reason it came with Prowl....just 'cuz. :)

Why would I torture Prowl that way?
    It just seems...cruel.

Had been wondering if that served any purpose to the figure, as whenever I get mine I want(ed) to see about removing that, so glad to hear it works out.
