At first his "raping your childhood" thing was pretty funny but now it's just ******ed. That is not G1 Soundwave, it's a new character who shares the same name, sort of like how there are lots of people called Dave. Seriously, give it a rest.

 

Animated Soundwave will throw illegally downloaded mp3's at his enemies and hear the cries and screams, which will be music to his ears.

 

Are you kidding? That sounds freaking awesome.
Also, I am not certain how any of what you describes counts as "rape" -even with poetic license liberally applied.

 

And if that happens and everyone loves it, you'll probably be all like "Hazrbo stoled my ideaz!"

See. I feel like if they were going that route, why even give him the Soundwave name? Why not just create new characters, ala The TF: Animated Movie?

To each their own. If you REALLY want to see Soundwave rocking out on a guitar while fighting Autobots, I can't stop you. Am I going to give the show a chance? Sure. But if you can't tell, I'm not very optimistic.

 

I think they look cool, but definitely they are not the best Prime or Soundwave figures out there. What about Movie Leader Prime? MP Prime?

I gotta admit, Hasbro out did themselves with the Animated line. Just beautiful. I cant wait to give them my all my hard earn cash for some prime Transformers. Its a great time to be a collector.

 

He is a new character, he's just meant to pay homage to the original Soundwave in someways. G1 is decidedly dead as far as being on the screen goes, it still lives on through comics but people really need to realise that any similarities are just that: similarities. It's basically a parallel universe that may pay homage but it will never be G1.

 

I'd like to see an all new show with all new characters sometime.

But hasbro won't ever let that happen.

 

Even Beast Wars wasn't very original, it had AN Optimus and Megatron.

 

Me too. I love Prime and the usual suspects but I'd love to see something else for a change. Problem is last time Hasbro attempted major change was the original movie and it was basically the beginning of the end for them. To pull off something different they would need something with really great writing and acting, otherwise they'd never have managed BW without it.

 

You know, I think these toys look excellent. I do know, however, that there are a lot of fans who love realistic alt modes, so I can see these would disspoint some.

 

The line looks great, there are very few figures I do not plan on getting...

That said, I still think the movie line is the single best TF toyline we have ever been blessed with.

 

This line looks...interesting. I'm digging most of the robot modes, but I really don't like Prime's vehicle mode! I would have to agree with whoever said that Grimlock was the best mold so far. Of course, my opinion could change when I see them in front of me...

 

Ratchet is the ugliest thing ever, Prowl isn't that great looking (and those "OMG IM A COOL ALOOF NINJA" type character don't resonate well me) either, and Bulk's legs make me sad.

I might get the one tripple changer, if he's good, and that's it for what we've seen so far.

Megatron, Screamer, Soundwave, Both Primes, Bumblebee, and Grimlock are the only toys that make me giddy so far. I might get Bulkhead so Bumblebee has someone to chum around with, but that's it.

I'll defintly get Ultra Magnus and Arcee, and Jazz and Prowl too. >.> When they're announced, which they so will be.

 

Prowl is the only one I like.

Because he's a ninja.

 

These designs are odd, to be sure, but what they lack in detail they make up for in personality. Released from the constraints of looking "believable" and "realistic", they're free to ooze with style. And I love that.
