And there it is... Doesn't really matter what the fandom thinks... Hasbro and CN are right again.

Whatever! It wouldn't be doin so well if it came BEFORE the movie. Now everybody is Transformers crazy & they're going nuts over anything related to Transformers. Wait a few years after the hype dies down & we'll see how it holds up.

Is this the same movie that failed because it didn't appeal to nostalgia?

Actually, you do have a bit of point. It is (at least initially) coasting off the success of the movie.

I think that there may be hope for this generation yet. Just imagine when they're older and nostalgic like we are now, and we're old and wrinkly and stuff....... wow, that's...... actually kinda creepy...

There's probably some truth to that indeed.

But how do they know if people of that age are actually watching or if grandma fell asleep with the tv on? Does it laser-scan your body and send carbon dating to a lab somewhere :p  ?

I wonder how big the numbers would be if they counted the people that watch it on the internet?

I'm just chiming in to say that the series is quite good. As far as standing the test of time, I think it's fair to say you could watch this series in 20 years and it wouldn't be as painful as watching G1.

This is great news. It means that there'll be something Transformers to watch until the next movie comes out, whenever that ends up happening.

Nielson sends you a hand-written log for you to keep.

The letter has like 3 dollars cash in it and says "here is a log, please fill out this demographic survey and write in what you and your family watched for this next week, if you don't feel like it, keep the dollars"

I had one sent to me a few years ago.

That is part of the data set.

How come people can't accept kids like it or that it got high ratings?

In a few years we'll get another movie and then another movie making a gigantic spiral of movie hype.
IN OTHER WORDS If the movie is the "thing" that makes people watch the show, the cartoon gonna probably last around 6 years and that's already way better than most actual CN shows.
