Had to blow up the Almanac tiny pic to make this, most of it was there but the head and cannons took some improvising. A combination of Wingblade's animation model for the cannons and use of the Almanac's Orthographic drawing of his head. Did my best with colouration guess work.

Larger version here = Powermaster Optimus Prime

I would have gone with blue eyes, Iknow the original PM Prime had red eyes but in the animated universe every single autobot has blue optics

Oh he does have blue eyes, I just had the visor orange and lowered the opacity. I didn't want to infringe on DJW's Autobot = Blue and Decepticons = Red optics.

I'd of gone with a more G1 design the current head looks too much like cybertron prime but otherwise cool idea

Wow... that is a WHOLE lotta Prime! Looks great though!
I wonder what season 4 bad-ass would have brought about this super beefed up Prime?

I like it, but I think it needs more black, based on the firetruck vehicle-mode colors

    Marauder Megatron?

The fact that we'll never get this toy officially makes me very, very sad. Impossible Toys? iGear? Fansproject? Somebody?

Whoever does one should do the other, fer reals :)

I've had an animated powermaster prime on the backburner for months now, just gotta do it.

As for the artwork here, that visor is awesome. But to me the legs seem a little gundam-y, did the allspark almanac show those legs specifically?

Yes. The design was shown as a full body shot. And his alt-mode is that of his full eight-wheeled fire truck. The main Prime body, sans armour, seemed to be similar to the Voyager, except that the front bumper was on his forearms instead of the legs, so that they could fold back up into his torso and leave a complete truck cab face for powered-up mode.

The legs are more reminiscent of Ultra Magnus', though, than those of Gundams.

Well I looked at the even rougher sketches of how the trailer comes apart and folds out. The black parts from the trailer would actually be on the back of those wings. So I decided to use colours more uniform with the rest of Prime and took some visual colouration cues from Wingblade Optimus. This was particularly due to some of the design notes referencing the similarity to the older upgrade.

I will most likely be attending TFcon, so if I do and Fansproject are there I will definitely ask them. I started work on the drawing of Marauder Megatron but since its in toy form, it's going to take a little longer to transition into a toon.

Buy the Allspark Almanac 2, there are some episode summaries of the 4th season. Or check out fanfiction, I'm working on one XD

From the designs in the book it seems as though a secondary piece fits over his old robot mode head. This would be the visor and the silver sides that run along his head. Furthermore you can still see the original antennae pop up behind them. I think the reason it invokes the Cybertron Prime design is because the Animated Powermaster armour actually invokes multiple Prime upgrades, in the way of RID Optimus with the hanging extending ladder on the back and the widespread wings like the original Powermaster. So it wouldn't be too surprising for a Cybertron reference.

You should totally do it, your Classics Powermaster was pretty awesome. Everything was shown, there were multiple designs, I just chose one that looked most complete.

That's what I thought too, so I decided to colour part of it light grey to stand out more. I thought the headlights on his knee armour resonated the most with Magnus.

    Thanks!

Yeah, from the Almanac, the armour transforms into the extended firetruck trailer we've all been wanting.
