Agreed. Being packaged in alt mode looked pretty underwhelming and made him just kind of blend in with everyone. This new packaging makes him stand out a LOT more, and is definitely better suited to his role as Autobot leader.

I'm curious to see if other Voyagers will get this same treatment.

 

i think its a good move. i dont think the average person would see the appeal of the toy in the store otherwise. ive only seen the one voyager prime i bought in a store so far. somebody is snapping them up. im surprised at how many starscreams i see still. i keep almost buying a second one and remembering that the repaints er..other seekers are coming anyway. they better not make one of them hard to get. any info on the female seeker? i really want one.

I think the size and price difference would do much to alleviate that confusion.

I could easily see it going that way, they've been packaging more and more toys in robot mode recently since they started with Armada Unicron.
It makes a lot of sense for larger figures to begin with and with animated being so character focused and having such great, expressive headscuplts it would make a lot of sense for animated as a whole.

 

Looks much better that way, and I still haven't got myself an Earth Prime.

 

Interesting. Not really sure what to think of this. Would be interesting to see other Voyager figures packaged like this. Grimlock would look good packaged like this, imo. Hopefully I'm either able to get him tonight, or an Acid Storm and a Legends G2 Megs.

 

Damn! That looks way better than the regular version. Hasbro should try packing all TFs in robot mode, they would definately look better when displaying them MISP.

Hello All!

When I first saw the vehicle mode Voyager Prime's appearance, I thought he was swallowed by the box. In fact, he almost resembled the Megas of series past. With the box spun clockwise and in robot mode, he most certainly earns the $20.00 he asks for. A BIG IMPROVEMENT!

Actualy, Mega's and Voyager's are technically the same size class, just under different names. Kinda like Basics and Scouts.

 

If I see that I will buy it! My Animated MISB truck Prime will go great with this  

 

IMHO, THIS is the BEST Optimus Prime in TFs Animated & I'm glad that it got re-released in robot mode packaging!
