Just some random photoshop fun, since we are well past the "futuristic" year 2005 by now I took a little stab at real life alt modes for the Transformers The Animated Movie/Season 3 good guys...there was of course always some question whether those were supposed to be Cybertronian alt-modes or "futuristic" post-2005 Earth vehicles. This take obviously assumes the latter, some came out better than others. Starting out with small pics to save download time but if someone wants a bigger one just lemme know. Anyway pretty easy to figure out who's who but in order here are Hot Rod, Kup, Ultra Magnus, Springer (both modes...don't ask me how the hell he pulls off this transformation LOL), Blurr, Arcee, Wheelie and Wreck-Gar.

Ha good question, I must say that is the only one of these that may not exist in real life, I'd seen it as concept motorcyle art labeled "Dominator Mark 1" and thought it looked cool, but I will see if there is any more info on it.

    Hot Rod works surprisingly well.

I always hate Kup as a shiny new Earth truck. It just doesn't fit his character. If he's going to be an Earth vehicle it should show his age. Make him an old truck. Honestly though he shared the same design with Orion Pax who we know was a Cybertronian truck.

Ultra Magnus is a direct repaint of Optimus Prime with a new trailer so that cab is not right for him.

Springer was a dune buggy not a muscle car. And there are dune buggies in real life that look similar to Springer's alt mode. I think you could of also found a better helicopter design that looks more like him too.

    Blurr looks great.

Arcee was a convertible, that car has a roof. You could use the same car just find one with a convertible top.

Wheelie and Wreck-Gar look great. I've never seen vehicles like that before but damn! The only problem is they were found on other planets so their alt modes are neither from Earth or Cybertron.

The way I'd approach Wreck-Gar in a movie would be with a couple of teams of mechanics taking part in some sort of 'Scrapheap Challenge' esque TV show, where they're making vehicles out of junk. Predictably enough, one of the teams finds a shard of the Allspark or something and installs it in the scrap-cycle they've made, which promptly springs up into robot mode speaking with his characteristic advertising slogan dialogue (a result of him being thrown together from various household appliances).

I dunno, I think the Muscle car fits Springer's personality perfectly.

But Dune Buggy? That's sandstorm. Springer's "car" mode was a real stretch to begin with. But it had fenders on the front wheels and I guess we were to imply that his rear wheels were somewhere near the rotor turbine from the helicopter tail. I don't think I've seen a dune buggy where fenders were considered optimal.

Now I'm going to preface this by assuming 'live action' means the movies, and also that I have literally no knowledge about semi trucks.

I think Ultra Magnus in this truck form works. Galvatron was based on Optimus Prime in the movies, and the Argosy looks similar to whatever truck this is. So it makes him a backwards repaint of an alt mode based on Optimus. Twisted, but I like it.

I can't really see the Western Star or the Peterbuilt working for an Ultra Magnus in the movies myself, because I'd still see too much Optimus Prime in it.

I love all these choices, both of Springer's alt modes look awesome in Bright Green, Blurr's alt mode is a dead ringer for his G1 toy, Ultra Magnus looks awesome and so does Wreck-Gar and Arcee is a car! Not a cycle which is always a win for me! Hot Rod's alt mode is awesome and a very good modernized homage.
