Nothing more than a lot of ropey 'what if?' on my part here...

Look at the pic we have of TFA Ironhide. Look at the chin.

Look at the smirk. Look at the colour of the sky.

POTENTIAL SPOILER BELOW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE EPISODE SYNOPSIS THREAD!

    I warned you.

To me, it screams Drill Sergeant at the Autobot Bootcamp where Bumblebee and Bulkhead first meet.

There's also chat around here that the traitor they meet at the bootcamp would be Huffer. Say it ain't so. I love the Hasslehuff. He's pessimistic, sure, but no turncoat.

    Please be Oil-Slick instead...

    Thoughts?

    IronicHide,you're onto something there.

As far as Cullen voicing IH,highly unlikely. As much as I would love him to I just don't see it happening.

That would rock on so many levels it to make it the coolest cartoon ever produced for Cartoon Network. I can also see him as the head drill instructor at Autbot Academy. I'd still say that could make him part of Ultra Magnus' Elite Squad.

And his design just screams Ratchet remold.

Gruff old Ironhide, a drill sergeant? I love it! That is a great idea.

If Peter Cullen could voice him that would be awesome, though I think he's probably going to cost too much to hire just to do a guest voice since the Movie.

Yes, but it was the fans who cried out for him to be given that roll, so I'd like to think, if offered, he'd take the pay cut to give one back to the fans.

I just hope they don't kill him off.

Ironhide's death has more impact for me than Prime in the G1 movie.

cartoon network still use Cullen for announcements, i don't see why he would deny the chance to protray Ironhide once again. (after all he did audition for movie Ironhide as well as Prime)

Rather then just remould Earth Ratchet, they could make a Cybertron Ironhide as well later down the line and then later still remold both figures into their opposite numbers.

If they did that, I'd like to see Earth Ratchet's tools/magnets replaced with a variety of guns for Ironhide (him being the weapons specialist in the movie makes this distinction possible in animated too) and Cybertron Ratchet should have his head crest fixed and his EMP.

Ironhide a traitor? NOOO! Say it won't be so! Tho' i'm sure they'll handle the explanantion adequately if it happens, but not our ole' cowboy Autobot!

And yes, if Mr Cullen reprised his role of Ironhide again that would very much rock.

I'm pretty sure we'll be getting a Voyager Ratchet down the line. I mean, so far all the Autobot toys had their signature weapons, it'd be strange for them not to release Ratchet with magnets.

I agree, a Cybertron mode Ratchet toy would be great.

I can't see Ironhide as a traitor. Granted, Animated Ratchet took some of the personality traits of KUp and Ironhide, so they might totally re-imagine the character. But him being in Cybertronian mode on the pic suggest he'll only feature in a flashback. That drill sergeant role would suit him well.

The deluxe one does have them, or at least an approximation of them but they seem kinda half arsed to me. Which is why I also think that they'll be a Voyager Ratchet later on. Or at least I certainly hope there will be, he's my favoruite autobot thus far and I wouldn't want to see him short changed. :(

Could be a nice little twist if he said that to Sentinel, or whatever other Prime is in charge.

I really can't see Ironhide as a traitor for two reasons:

1/ The writers behind TFA take some liberties but are drawn from the same fandom that would not take kindly to Ironhide being duplicitous.

2/ If we're on to something with the Drill Sergeant theory, drill sergeants are father figures or tough taskmasters, both archetypes have great investment in their cause and are unlikely traitors.

Huffer makes more sense as a traitor (given his G1 past as a nay-sayer), but I don't want him to be.

I never cared for Pipes, Gears, Brawn, Seaspray, Sunstreaker, and Tracks. Any of them can be treasonous and I'm cool with it. I look forward to booing them like a cheating spouse on Trisha.

*looks around for Wheelie or TwinTwist to satisfy majority of fans*

I / we could be wrong about all of the above but Peter Cullen reprising the voice would make me squeal with joy.

It wouldn't be such a stretch for Cullen to voice Ironhide. He's been doing announcer VO's for Cartoon Network for a while now.
