Hello all, this is my take on Animated Insecticons. This Animated style is tricky lol. The pics with the purple names were my first attempt at Animated, they were ok but needed more work. I think the new ones look way better, hope u all do as well. Tweeked their symbols a bit to show their different form other Decepticons. I was going to use the Predacon symbol but wanted to stay closer to the original. Finally have their bios done and a combine mode. Was'nt going to post the combine mode but had the design, figured I'd share it lol. Will be adding a back story soon. Hope u all enjoy.
Very very nice. Shrapnel looks very thugish, Kickback's a ninja, and Bombshell's name isn't as misleading now.
Great concepts! I really wish Animated continued. I think they really had something good going with the cartoon and toys.
If there's one positive thing to admit from the Animated line, the designs are so outlandish there so good!
wow, i really like the designs, but for some reason they dont really look "Animated" enough to me...they look cartoony and full of character to be sure, but there is something missing. I think it may be kickback's eyes and shrapnels alt-mode, but im not sure...
Glad most of u are digging them. I tried to keep the G1 feel, yet not go so far into Animated that they looked goofy, laughable, strange maybe but not goofy. I hope to get more time to draw more pics. At least for bombshell, she needs more attitude lol
I actually think that bombshell is the one that needs the least amount of work at this point. just my
Hmm, the shrapnel you've created now has an Oaf-ish thug rather than a serious brawler, which i rather liked the latter more for. Also bombshell seems to also have gone a personality change where before she was a graceful death-dealer, it now seems like she is just out there with attitude and wants to smack someone. The kickback also seems to have become slack and looks like he doesnt care. If these were the things you were going for then MAN! did you do them to a Tee. Also just a quick thing, i like the idea that the insect heads just turn or come out and become the head, very clever actually, but i think the one it doesn't work on is shrapnels. Just my
You're getting there with the Animated style. They're solid designs but my main concern are the lines, are you drawing these with pens or digitally?
Yeah, their attitudes have changed a little to fit their bios, which i hope to have finshed soon lol. I'm working on their Hunger issue for its not going to be just food, well Shrapnel's is. Yet Boumshell's hunger is for Leadership/power and Kickback just hungers for a good fight whether it be a squable between his team mates or a brawl with the Autobots. To answer Grim's question, I drew them with pen then use mspaint for color. Because I have no photoshop skills lol
