I'm curious about what will happen to Animated when it inevitably gets to Japan. Will it get dubbed faithfully or will they pull a Beast Wars and mutilate the show (though I admit the theme was catchy)?

It's probably the reaction to it that I'm most anticipating. Given that they're quite different in style to what appears to be the general look of TFs from Japan (pretty much G1-esque, to me), will it get wildly popular or will everyone go 'BLOCKS NOT BENDY!!1!'?

Toys, too. I think I heard somewhere here that most TFs in Japan are bought by people who collect giant robot stuff. What exactly will they think of the suddenly 'kiddy'* toys?

    *By their standards.

Yeah, last time I checked TFs wasn't doing so well over there as it has been here.I don't know if Animated could work since it's basically custom made for the USA target audience.

I really don't know what to expect.

Well Power Puff girls did extremely well over there. It did so well they did their own series. So who knows? The shows haven't been doing well over there. Perhaps this is what will work. The g1 nods won't hurt it either.

I was under the impression that Powerpuff Girls and Teen Titans both did pretty well in Japan. I suspect once enough episodes are built up and there's some free airtime, the show and toys will appear in Japan - maybe in a limited form like Beast Wars Returns (BM), but I'd bet at least twenty-two cents that it will.

And "their own series" for PPG blows, in my mind.

Bleedman's output is better. Say what you want about Bleedman, but I do have to say his story is better than the crap they used for the PPG anime.

I really, really hope they like it. Japanese TF fans and TF fans of the rest of the world have been quite divided, ya know, Beast Wars, Takara's last minute desperate ditch to make everything continuity, Kiss Players....

I just want something that ALL TF fans can like for once.

Never gonna happen. And it is already too late for Animated, seeing as it still gets hate stateside.

    A nice dream though.

All that Animated needs is that the majority of the Transformers-Fans like it enough. What is even better is that Animated is well-liked by children and other person to become Transformers-Fans, so anyway, it's doing its job. :)

I dread seeing the fanart that the audience of Kiss Players produces.

Y'know, if Animated takes a while to dub into Japanese like BW did, who's willing to bet that a bunch of filler anime series are created to fill in the gap?

I'd personally like to see an anime series that takes place where the live-action movie ended. >.>

Provided its animated by a compentant company, the one that produces Ghost in the Shell: SAC for example, TOP NOTCH stuff.

I hold opinion that anyone is capable of making a good TF show, one only need apply consistant writing and animaton effort, as Animated tries and on the whole suceeds in doing.

I am curious to see what Japan thinks about animated. I perfer the new cartoony style characters than the garbage CGI. I am just glad that whenever someone whines on animated, their head doesn't explode.(Thunderblast) And yeah, they will probably be yelling BLOCK NOT BLENDY

I hope so but I unfortunately know how both our culture works.

They'll like the new Prowl as a guess.

TakaraTomy will only bring Animated over to Japan if it is getting a 4th season (see: 52 episodes). And even then, they'll want to gauge response here ... ratings, toy sales, etc.

It would be considerably cheap for them to do so since the toys will have already been made and the bill footed by most of Hasbro. Plus it gives them something to last a year ... where it would last probably 3 years here.

    1. They never don't call their Optimus's 'Something Convoy'.
2 and 3. What the heck?

    OH HECK NO

Given the complexities of the transformations, entire episodes could be concerned with ONE transformation sequence.
