I decided to do a search for animated goodness on Ebay today to kill some time between teaching classes and came across this beauty:

    Grimlock

I didn't think it was all that bad until I saw the shipping cost! :sly:

I've shipped a rather large box from Taiwan to the US containing several 1/100 scale Gundam kits, all their accessories and manuals for not even half of that! And it was by EMS no less.

I had thought about trying to get in touch with the guy since I live in Taiwan, maybe seeing if he has anything else available that maybe I could do a local pickup on, but not when the guy is that whacked!

Yah thats how it is in Asia, they make their money through excess shipping costs. Hope you can get him by local pick up, good luck :thumb

You probably should try for a local pickup regardless of his eBay tactics. If he refuses, it's no skin off your teeth.

its a common tactic for these guys to avoid dealing with the locals. like that guy who is registered being in singapore but has huge disclaimer of 'wont ship to singapore' on their auctions. they just want to capitalize from overseas buyer.

It's more like $25.00 EMS shipping service. You get the item in like 2-3 days.

Except the auction doesn't say that, so rob_charb's in luck. :)

I decided to just wait for it to hit retail as well. I was looking on ebay mostly to kill time and to see what was out there. I fail to see the point in spending 60 bucks on a toy that I'll be able to get for 20 in a few months. Or weeks, if that bump-up we've been hearing about is true.

I also love how none of them combine shipping on their auctions either. Pure anal shipping rapage.

i bet you can't pick up locally. What would the seller think if you are not a buyer but busting him out?
