I was trying to not buy into the concept from the beginning, I just did not like the radical departure to the stylized look.

Then the line was treated like an unwanted step child by the company and network as far as late toy releases and season to season news on renewals.

Now here at the end waiting for season 3 to begin I find myself very fond of the show and now the toys. That show is written by fans for fans and to watch it is to love it.

And the 1 or 2 homage characters I might pick up have turned into almost all of them. The deals thread informed me that Walmart had leader Megatron and Bulkhead on sale so I ordered those Thursday night, should be here by Tuesday and I can't wait to get that headmaster out and slap it on some bots.

Today I bought Waspinator and Blur at toys r us they're in my overnight bag I'll take to Cleavland tonight, it's the one night I stay out over the road now so I like to open new figures to pass the time, that and listen to WTF@TFW.

So now it looks like I'm so close to completing the line I might as well, gonna try to get Ultra Magnus on sale though, and no repaints only soundblaster.

Did this happen to any of you, the creeper effect that animated had on me?

It happened to me. When the first pics of the cartoon animation leaked out, I didn't like them at first. Now I love the toys and the show.

I'm on the other side of the spectrum, I'm gonna be wanting to get RID of my Animated stuff whenever I get around to it, right now it's just taking up some much needed space.:lol

    I utterly DESPISED Animated...

...For about two hours (literally) after seeing the first poster. Now it is the greatest thing to me since Beast Wars.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Animated has something for everyone. And once you like one thing, you start to like another, then that looks cool, and "ah, I might as well watch the cartoon".

I despised Animated (Optimus poster, Autobot group poster.) til I saw the first bit of footage. Than I fell in love.

Those early posters were easy to hate. I think we all were put off by those.

After watching the premier, I didn't love it, but I liked it enough to give it a chance. It wasn't till the episode "Thrill of he hunt" that I thought: "We have something special here."

Also, once I finally got my hands on the toys, I was hooked.

Happened to me as well - have just got Leader Megs, Jazz, Swoop and Snarl, to add to the ones I got already. Wasn't going to buy any - now they're one of my biggest series collections...

They are very infectous. I didn't buy into them at first and then I saw Blitzwing and Grimlock. Only thing that kept me from getting the whole line was having a baby on the way.

haha your situation sounds exactly lilke mine did.
hated show, wanted nothing to do with it cause it was so "Ben 10"
then I bought blurr, and after that I bought every figure I could find, and watched all the episodes :3
animated is a good thing. Even if it's ending for good it's been a helluva treat for us fans, and new ones alike.
If anything I hope they continue the toyline under the universe name. It'd be totally lame to see all these awesome characters coming in S3 not get the toys they deserve.
    welcome to the club!

I bought one back at Botcon last year, just because they were early released in this area. I got Cybertron mode Prime. Did not care for the toy. The aesthetic just isn't for me. I do love the show though. It's the best since Beast Wars. I did end up buying Blurr on impulse just because the aesthetic kinda works for G1 season 3 homages. I ended up getting Wreck-Gar and want Arcee as well. That's all I'm getting sucked into buying.
