Well as some of you may know I am not a fan of the toys, and haven't collected any of them. I also haven't payed attention to what's out there for Animated toys.

Well, my Nephew (who will be 9), wants either Animated Prime, or Megatron. I would like to know from the Animated fans which Prime or Megatron toy the like best and why, to help me pick one for my Nephew. The limit on what I will spend is from $30-$40.

Also, I do not want this to turn into an Animated hate fest. So if you don't have anything positive to contribute, please don't.

    Thanks.

Get the two-pack. Can't go wrong there. Prime is probably the best Prime released for Animated, and Megatron (minus the silly blade/cannon thing) is really great looking.

If you want to get him a Prime, go for Voyager Prime, he's $20. For Megarton, go leader class for $40

Just get the twin pack...it has both characters. That way he gets both characters and you don't have to choose which one to get him.

I agree with the twin pack. He'll probably love the battle-damaged deco.

    Ebay:
    $20 Voyager Prime, $40 Leader Megatron, or $20 2-pack.

    Voyager prime and leader Meg!
Scale is perfect and way more solid than the box combo.
Vehicle modes are also much better, especially for a 9 yearold

I vote for the two-pack as well. Since he's 9 the battle damage may not bug him. Although to be honest it would have bugged me at 9, but I was a weirdo. Sorry, AM a weirdo. :)

I don't know if I'd recommend Voyager Prime for a 9 year old. There is a very high chance he'll strip the gears resetting the legs.

i'd definitely go with wat i have, which is voyager prime and leader megatron...
however, u did mention ur budget was 30-40 and as leader megatron costs around 30-40, i think the 2-pack should be fine too, for a 9 year old

Yeah, given your budget, get the 2 pack. Hell, why not spend the whole $40? Buy the 2 pack and then a couple of Deluxes, or some Activators? Give him a whole battle! :D

As has been said the 2-pack would probably be a safe bet, I can't however not recommend Leader Megs who is all sorts of awesome.

I just want to second this. Voyager Prime's quirky automorph requires precision to reset, and can be very finicky.

While I don't have him, I'd go with Leader Megatron. He's big, turns into a cool helicopter, has swords, and is relatively easy to transform. What more could a kid want? :)

My 4 year old son has Voyager Prime and has no problems transforming him back and forth. He REALLY wants a Leader Megs (he drools over mine every day). I'm getting him one for X-mas. As far as the two pack, He loves the Prime figure and absolutly hates the Megatron. He complains that it's too loose and too small.

leader megatron = king of the animated line...imo. he is very durable, tons of play value, easy transforamtion, he talks in bot mode, helicopter/engine electronics in helicopter mode, solid in either mode.
