The haphazard placement of the emblem really kills this figure. I can understand not wanting to place it on the shoulder to make room for the gold stripes, but it really hurts the flow of the figure's lines just slapped under the window like that. Prime has that nice little triangular panel right in front of his head, on the roof of the truck; I wonder why they didn't just make it a bit smaller and place it there? Maybe so it would be forward-facing in 'bot mode? Or heck, even follow the Legends fig and paint the windows gold and turn them into one big pair of Elite Guard Wings. At least that would have been more interesting. Additionally, rather than being a rich burgundy the red looks pale and washed out. Overall it just seems like a poorly thought-out, rushed deco. Definitely not worth the price.
Kinda glad I'm rarely interested in same-character repaints. I'll echo what WhiteMocha said about the use of the elite guard emblem.
I'll get him just to be completist for the Animated voyager Prime mold... but not at the prices he's currently going for.
That's really freaking lame to be honest. Stuff like yellow face, dead red and gray instead of the rich blue just kills the figure.
That is a custom repaint: Army Ratchet and it's awesome. On topic: I didn't care too much for most of the animated toyline, but this one seems specially a letdown, why wouldn't they give him the wing thruster upgrades? and agreed with Whitemocha, the placement of the elite guard insignia breaks the aesthetics.
Arrgh, missed out on the Black Animanted repaint..most likely will not abe able to get this one as well. Bummer. Sweet pics and link, though. The Japan hobbyists sure can make inanimate toys look super life-like.
Completely agree with previous comments. However I have the other EG figures, so i will end up getting this.
I think im gonna cave in and pay the $90 for that Elilte Guard Prime figure as the pics dont do his colour scheme justice. IMHO, it looks miles better in person. Sure the random placement on Prime's left torso of the gold Elite Guard symbol is a minor gripe, but it's a limited release, goddammit.
