Animated Earth mode Megatron toy in CNN "2008 toy trends" clip?

    http://money.cnn.com/video/#/video/news/2008/01/18/news.parija.hasbro.cnnmoney

About a minute into the video, there is a Megatron toy on the table. He has a blaster in the left hand (Different from Cyb version) and also holding a sword that looks made up of helicopter blades in his right hand. The aesthetic of the toy looks different than the Cyb version to me!
Also looks like Voyager Earth mode prime is there and looks like a new Movie Bumblebee blaster toy too.

The blaster we've known about for a while I believe., might be the first time we've seen it's gimmick in action.. definitely Earth Megatron though, looks very nice. Prime's also a lot bigger than I thought. (Considering he has no rear section, bastards!)

What the hell version of Animated Prime is that? It's huuuuuuuge! Almost looks like a Leader sized version of his Earth mode.

Can't really make out that version of Megatron too well. It looks like it *could* be a Deluxe version since it's not too much bigger than Bulkhead, but it doesn't look like the 2-pack version we have just seen. Might be a Deluxe version of his Earth mode...?

    Nice find.

Looks cool. The thing I found surprising about this video is the fact that he said, "you'll start to see these toys rolling out right.....uh right now". So is that a sign that we'll see them hit shelves earlier than June? (one can hope)

The Prime is probably a different version--something other than the Voyager, Deluxe, Leader, etc. (similar to other TF lines where we had hulking leaders, then more scaled down versions as well).

That's definatly not the Cybertron version. But more impressive to me is the half-transformed Animated OP that's freakin' huge next to the lady.

Thanks, man. After seeing that Prime again, I KNOW it's not the "regular" Prime we'll see hitting shelves with that Megatron figure. It's just TOO large--it's another Prime toy, but not part of the main line itself.

I've been a big fan of the eath mode of Animated Megatron since we saw his transformation sequence in the promo video that's since been taken down. The toy in the vid looks really nice I must say. It looks to have a nice dark metallic paint job. I'm not intending to pick up any animated figures but if the final retail version of earth mode Megs turns out well then I'll be tempted to pick him and probably earth mode Prime up as well.

Megs looks Voyager size to me, same size as the toy that looks like Bulkhead. Remember he's a helicopter so the vehicle mode would likely need a voyager size box regardless. And yeah Prime's axe is freakin HUGE.

I'm curious about that LCD game they briefly mentioned. Looks like a transforming, working handheld game. Perhaps transforming it affects the in game action in some way?

Maybe the remark about the release date being "Uh..Right Now" was in reference to the blasters and the game.

I thought it was Lugnut on the table. The feet didnt look like Bulkheads.

I'll need to see better pictures of Earth Mode Megatron before I really decide if he's a buy or not, but if he's anything as cool looking as the Cybertron mode, he will be a buy.

Prime looks to be a leader-class version?
