I thought the sets never saw the light of the day after first hearing about them but somehow I ended up finding both on Ebay tonight. Anyone has them? Never saw a review or even a follow up article after they were first announced.

After digging some more, I found out the toys were first announced during the first quarter of 2010. And going by the BBTS website, it looks like the sets are finally getting released now, unless they found old stock? I could only find one review, but it's not clear if the set (the Prime one) had been purchased at retail or if it was just a sample.

Also, both sets have alternate instructions.

Also, notice how the Bumblebee set differs from the one shown before.

And this is why you don't want a transformable block kit.

They just hired the wrong people to do the designing. Fans would likely come up with much better models using the same bricks.

Kre-o as is is still VASTLY superior to this crap. And would also be superior to any attempt at a transformable block kit.

Sorry but I'll take my fully transformable Kre-o creations over Hasbro's non-transformable models on any day. If I wanted non-transforming cars or trucks made of bricks, I would just buy Legos.

That's what I like about Kreo actually. I've seen a lot of "rebuilds" that look leagues better than the original, some of them even done without a single extra brick more than what's already in the packaging.

I've seen those, they're pretty terrible looking. And proof positive that transformable brick kit is never going to be any good.

but the point of kre-o, its a building set first, transformers afterwards. if the kits had to transform they would of SUCKED.

we didn't neet build to rule 2.0, kreo is awesome

In your world maybe. You know, the world where Leader Starscream wasn't even a possibility despite facts that it was coming? I bet you don't remember that one.

Kre-o IS BTR 2.0. BTR didn't transform either (ok, maybe the shitty core piece did transform in 2 steps, but that was about it).

There's often some mindblowing stuff at Brickshelf that shows a competent transforming brick-built figure is entirely possible.

Even if Kre-O is a brick-building set first and a Transformer second there's no reason it couldn't do both well. In this regard I personally feel Kre-O is a bit half-assed.

I've seen some of those. Built with technic and bionicle parts. They also look like total garbage.

Actually I was quite right about that. I believed that there was no possibility of a leader class ROTF Starscream. And there isn't one. There is however a HFTD leader Starscream.

You're playing with words. You refuted the possibility of a Leader class Starscream figure, period.

Anyway, transformable sets are just around the corner. You can bet Hasbro is already working on that.

Yeah, their G1 Convoy is pretty much a Leader class figure.
