yeah. Neither version does much for me.

At this stage, Samurais are boring and played out. But the pirate version just looks dumb.

Samurai version definitely looks better, but I wouldn't want him to actually be a samurai.

    Pirate > Ninja.

Besides, Bludgeon looks sweet as a pirate!

    Samurai > Pirate

I like the design for the pirate, but where's the Samurai design? You want me to be truly objective, get me a sweet Samurai concept too! (And a Carnivac one as well)

I'd be more than happy with Pirate Bludgeon as well, primarily coz he's on a boat... thats in space! The rest of it the writers can deal with to give him a Samurai origin. His character isn't about the armour he wears, its about his festering soul, served equally well as a mentalist pirate. Yes, make him out of his nut and you got my vote.

    Pirate all the way.

Samurai/Ninja/Far-East-Martial-Arts-Stereotypes have been done enough in Animated...

That being said, both those designs look freaking awesome.

The pirate looks awesome. Although I always figured the best way to present Bludgeon would be to do a time travel story involving Japan and the legend of the Oni - then reveal that the Oni were Cybertronians.

Maybe we can have Cannonball as the pirate?

    Perfect.

The Autobots could go on holiday, and hear about 'Blood John the Pirate" and then discover that "Blood John" is really Bludgeon, a rogue Decepticon.

Optimus and he can have a sword duel on the middeck!

In the g2 comics he was both a samurai and kind of pirate, he and his troops would wander the galaxy pillaging planets for weapons and raw materials. (I think.)

And he could be their commander.

I want a third choice: Knight.

    Or a Viking.

    Bludgeon iz 4 samurai.

They should just do him as a samurai (although I agree it's being a bit overplayed in Animated), then do Octopunch as a pirate. Win/win.

Methinks you are tad biased, sir.

As I commented earlier on this topic, I think either would be cool.

Although, "Bludgeon" as a name is more pirately, then samuraily. Yes Rly.

And for the record I think Bludgeon would be a Ronin (masterless samurai), unless he's a loyal follower to Megs, taking a even more hardliner approach to infidels who have the audacity to dare to critise thier GLORIOUS leader then Lugnut.
