Well, I've sort of always wanted Animated Blitzwing, looks really cool. However its been 10 ROTF figures later and I've found him on Walmart.com, and I'm thinking about grabbing him before he disappears completely from retail. Still full price, but I have a gift card, so it'll only cost me about 7 bucks when Site to Store is factored in. My question is is Animated Blitzwing worth passing up something like another ROTF Voyager, given the circumstances of Animated.
If you can get over the treads on the jet-mode, then yes, I'd say he's a worthy Animated figure to pickup.
he's a cool figure. Plus how many TF's actually look like a nazi? Jack boots and gloves, tan uniform, helmet. I got him just for the "bizarre" factor alone.
Depends. He's sorta floppy and some parts don't stay locked in all the time, plus the fact his upper forearms are switched (production error, it's on all retail Blitzys, including mine). However, if you love the character in the show and don't mind his shortcomings of the alt modes, I'd highly recomend him for he is EXTREMELY accurate to the cartoon model (the wings are on the arms, but don't get in the way that much.). In fact, the only two ROTF voyagers out currently that I think are better than him are The Fallen himself and Mixmaster.
I like him a lot To expand further: Pros 1) He has 2 Missile launchers 2) He has a 3 face gimmick 3) Triple Changer - Bot and Tank mode are great, but the end part of plane mode is "decent" 4) Height wise, he's show accurate Cons 1) He can't move his cannons forward like on the show (w/o modding it) 2) The wings for plane mode are tiny 3) No ankle or wrist articulation (but i am being nit picky here) Overall he is very worth it, he was probably the 2nd figure I bought that got me into the toyline. Jazz was my 1st toy in the line.
He's like a fraggin' Revoltech the way he can pull off a lot of poses. I love him, especially his tank mode. Just an awesome figure all around.
Really? the forearms on mine seem fine to me. Unless the error isn't really that obvious, mine appear to be on right.
Alright, thanks for the input. I just have one more question. Can anyone, either take one or show me a pic of Blitzwing standing next to either Voyager Shockwave or Leader Megs? I know there's probably one on Seibertron, but I'd prefer something without weird depth changes.
I can't take a pic until tomorrow, but they are approximately the same height, Blitzwing is a shade shorter but it depends on how you arrange the cannons. I personally love the guy, I never worried much about the treads on his vehicle mode - I just had a lot of fun with the triple changing and his three faces.
i really liked blitzwing. i mean i tried to get all of animated and i like that he has the 3 personalities, so its fun to pose him depending on which face is showing. i would also get him since ROTF is so new it will be here for a LONG TIME. and think animated will get phased out steadily and forgotten so i would pick him up if you have any desire to get him....but thats just my opinion
I have a few reservations with the figure, but what the hell, go for it. I don't really like how beefy his thighs are, and I don't like the rubbery plastic they used on his helmet. But these don't seem to bother most people, so disregard them if you like. The biggest issue I have is how floppy the jet mode is. I don't really mind the tank treads under the wings, that's inevitable. But if everything locked together solidly, I'd be much happier to recommend it. In theory there's a place for everything to plug in, but it just doesn't work too well. Tank mode is much better in this regard. Tank mode is cute and tiny and solid.
he's a fun figure, especially like everyone else mentioned the spinning heads is something to enjoy. i like leaving it on the insane face. here are some quick pics
Thanks for reminding me how much I'm gonna miss Animated (Blitzy was one of my favorites... and I wish he wasn't so under-used in season 3 now that I think about it) Oh yeah so anyway I'd say definitely get it, he's really cool!
