Turns out Blitzwing has a factory assembly error. His biceps are switched. Just pop his arms off below the bicep swivel, pop the arms back on to the opposite sockets, and then switch his forearms (one screw, no glue).

If the biceps are correct, you will see the ball joint "vent" on the outside as show here:

Robot mode gets a little more clearance between the arms and the folded down wings after the swap.

Jet mode lines up much nicer. Of note, the flaps near the tail now line up vertically with top of the plane, and the front of the jet now sits flush on top of the wings.

And as you can see, the look of 'bot mode is not hurt.

Nice find dude. I always thought the arms were kinda strange and now the Plane mode looks excellent. You did a great justice to the community. :thumb

Went to go and do this, had the right forearm disassembled, and then found the screw head on his left arm broken off from the shaft when I went for that one. :banghead:  Quality Control strikes again. Nice work, at any rate - I guess I'll see what sort of difference it makes if I can exchange it.

Nice find, I'll do this when I get the chance

The clickers on his arms are just to give them some width, they have to collapse to make room for stuff in the other modes

Nice! I know this thread is about 4.5 years old, but I just got Animated Blitzwing for the first time and used this fix. Brilliant! Significantly improves the jet mode. The way it allows the wing parts to fully peg into the shoulder pieces is awesome!

I'm glad you did bump it, as somehow I missed it. Which is odd because I love Cheebs.

Yeah, why didn't this become more common knowledge 5 years ago? I just did this fix too, and it works exactly as advertised. Thanks, Cheebs from 2008!

Funny thing. I just picked this guy up for a possible repaint too. (still not sure if I'll go through with it though)

Might just keep him now and have him next to the new one that came out now. Thanks :)

Hm... does that mean the arm pieces on yours are already in the position described by the first poster (with the little "slots" on the outside)?

He's referring to the images inline with the first post. When I resourced this, I remedied that problem for the tutorial article :D
