Glad to see people appreciating Jizai's concepts. Everyone should look at the stuff he does.

Does anyone know what the toys I'm thinking about are called? I hate it when I forget something, even if I wasn't into them.

I think I know what you guys're talking about (the insect transformers), but I was never able to find em. If you give me a few minutes, I'll track down the name.

Edit - They're Legends of Nara Metomorphs, and there were at least 3 other variants too, including a spider that I especially wanted. I'd have bought both that & the Wasp in a second (or even all 4 if they were cheap), but the only ones I could find were little non-transforming figures (the guys for the battle game which seems to be all I can find on the official site), so I left a broken & sad Raticate. Unicron-9 also made a really sweet custom Waspinator with it, which is where I first heard about these.

Can they look like robots, or do they have to look "organic" in Beast mode?

I'm not TOO ashamed to admit I'd buy the hell out of that frog.

Yeah, and then the dude that transforms into a woman. Actually, I'd totally pick up the Penguin for one of my friends if I could find it handily in a dollar store or something.

There's a couple of dinosaur bootlegs that fit the bill, then.

    Transformer Knock-Offs – The Best Of Poundland | Redshirt.co.uk

There's like dozens of variants that all follow the same basic transformation scheme. Dinocrotchformers.
