Good luck for him, but I lost faith after they decided to do a reboot and bring Parker back to high school. I will reserve judgment until I see a teaser or a trailer at least.
I wish they had gone with Donald Glover, but I guess that was a long shot. Don't know much about this Garfield guy, other than the fact that he's 27 and it's kinda weird that they'd cast someone that old to play teenaged Peter.
Hmm..a 26 year old guy plays a 16 year old teenager? Not too sure about that. I know it's normal to get an actor that's older but this seems a bit too much, if the rumors are true this is going to be faithful to USM..
Isn't he getting 'too old for that shit'? Edit - Just read the Predators thread and realised I was getting confused with Danny Glover. Carry on.
It's not weird to cast actors to play younger. In Animal House they cast some dudes that where ewell into there 30's to play college guys and Matthew Broderick was 24 and Alan Ruck was 29 or 30 in Ferris Bueller's Day Off playing High School kids.
Totally agree... Just going by this one picture here, but if the plan is for him to be a high schooler, he looks way too old!
Eh, whatever, I'm only interested to see who'll be playing J. Jonah Jameson. I honestly don't think anyone can portray him better than JK Simmons did in the original trilogy, but I guess I'll just have to see, won't I? At this point, I don't care who they get to play Venom (assuming he'll be in the reboot series at some point), as long as he does a better job than Topher Grace did in Spider-Man 3.
agreed topher graced ruined spiderman3 for me. while youre at it as good of a job as toby maguire did he never really looked like parker to me. i hope they get channing tatum to be venom
I'm all for someone a bit older than teenager to play Peter Parker. Do we really want someone the age of Justin Bieber playing Spiderman?
Yeah, but he was only high school Peter for half a movie. If they are planning to keep Peter at high school age for the duration of they're reboot, he's going to start looking pretty old by the time the sequels are coming out. I guess they might go with an older Peter after the first one though. Also, I thought Topher Grace was one of the only good parts of Spiderman 3. He's a great actor, and he was a great Eddie Brock.
I'm glad they went with an unknown actor, but my big question is whether they will stick with the organic web shooters of the previous trilogy or switch to the mechanical ones from the comics for the reboot. It should be interesting how they handle that.
