He should have just brought them a gun and knife to use...
Scalper got owned by fanboys.
Yeah, I just don't feel very bad for the scalper.
I do. He was assaulted and robbed. That's just not cool.
Ha ha, hes going to have a red face in the morning.
trying to sell the PS3s for 5000 dollars, I would of farted in his face after i maced him.
I doubt they were fanboys its 10x more likey that they plan on scalping them on ebay where smarter people sell highly coveted consoles.
I don't feel too bad for the scalper- only wish more of them could get assualted and robbed.
Yeah, it's always cool to see people get assaulted, or worse, killed, over something as trivial as scalping a game console.
Where's that giant rolling eyes smiley when you need it?
This is a fucking game system, one that will be in every store in the world a year from now. How is it great, awesome, cool, or even acceptable to cheer a guy getting robbed and beaten for a stupid fucking game system?
I feel bad for the guy (seriously). He was assaulted! Regardless if he is scalping or not.
But why would you be so stupid as to meet two people you don't know at 1:00 in the morning for a $5000 transaction... by yourself? Is common sense that rare?
Maybe he was going to send send the profits to some childrens charity or something; then I'd feel bad about what happened to him, but with this information its hard for me to give a rat's ass. He was doing something greedy and got screwed over by the even greedier purchasers he was trying to take advantage of. Don't get me wrong, I hope the dudes who robbed him get busted- they're most certainly assholes, far worse than any scalper.
As for "only wish more of them could get assualted and robbed." hyperbole, expressing my distaste for their asshole-ish behavior, and not to be taken too seriously, or as a call to arms or anything.
I find this to be just as awful as all the other muggings/shootings, but I don't run many doublestandards.
And yes, he was -really- dumb. A public place isn't a public place at 1am.
wasn't in $10,000? if he had 2 ps3's and was selling them at $5000 each, it just makes him stupider thats the first thing i thought when i saw this, sucks for the guy but who the hell meets strangers for a 10,000 grand transaction on their own at 1am
Pepper spray? You feel bad that a man who was scalping electronics at 1 AM was robbed with pepper spray?
Can we have a little moral perspective here? He got exactly what he deserved for the type of business he involved himself in.
I should add:
"Feeling bad that assault happened" and "knowing the scalper was a Darwin-ready leadbrained moron" are not mutually exclusive schools of thought.
I'd have felt sorry for him if he wound up dead...
Drug Running for Columbian Cartels? No thats not right... Was he smuggling arms for domestic terror groups? not that either... Remind me again how he deserves to be assaulted? Sure he was stupid for not using EBAY but thats about it.
What's wrong with you people?
The guy was selling an item and was robbed. Although at an inflated price, it was perfectly LEGAL for him to be selling it. Do you cheer when a store is robbed of items they're selling at higher than MSRP?
Man, some of you people really are jackasses. You guys aren't the ones paying the high prices, and if you wait you can get a retail priced unit. So what's with the whole "he deserved it" schtick?
Get over your high and mighty selves.
I'd say exactly what he deserved was to not be able to make any money off of the units he hoarded- somewhere between his greed and stupidity he got mugged with pepper spray at 1 a.m.
Guy is an idiot.. Fine if you wanna scalp the thing but doing it by yourself, at 1 am, in a parking lot, is asking for trouble. If I was going to sell one I'd get a few people together that I know (like KidDynamite) and pay them $100 each to watch my back for about 20 minutes. And I'd do it in a heavily trafficked area during the day.. or near some cops.
