So the results are in, and according to the fan voting Titletown is .....Valdosta,Ga?? I'm a bit pissed myself, since if I didn't live about 65 miles from there I wouldn't have even heard of the frickin' place. C'mon, out of the other 19 cities nominated( including Boston, Pittsbugh, Green Bay, New York..etc), that's the best they could do?? Something ain't right here..... BTW- I'm not bitching just cause Pittsburgh didn't win, but the only major city in the top 5 was Boston, at #4. Thoughts? Edit: Forgot the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/titletown/index
Why y'all gotta hate, yo? But no, I understand your reaction if you've never been there. Yeah, it's not on the same level as the other cities mentioned, but for high school and Division II, it's another universe.
Bwah, ha-ha! Seems to me the folks of Veldosta had nothing better to do than sit @ espn.com and vote for hours on end.
I can understand why Valdosta won, but I honestly thought LA should have won between the Lakers, UCLA and USC. When I think of Boston the only team that comes to mind is the Celtics
No, Tifton is the Reading Capital of the World. I wonder how long until Valdosta puts up a billboard on I-75 proclaiming their new title? Uh, Red Sox? Patriots?
Think that's Dalton, GA. And the High Speed Internet Capital of the Southeast! And if that wasn't enough, it's the home of the Agrirama!
We use to play Valdosta back in the late 80s/early 90s when our high school was a regional/state powerhouse. We beat them a couple of times, but normally they KILLED us. They are good, and they have better facilities than a lot of colleges... I voted for Tuscaloosa, naturally Although I think I have to agree that it is Boston.
