~before totally popping a rocking wheelie in his robo wheelchair~ damn these engadget guys but seriously, this is cool for him! http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/26/AR2007042602709.html?hpid=moreheadlines
Coolest thing ever. If I had to name one person who, after everything he's been through and everything he's contributed to modern scientific thinking, it'd be him. I'm glad he enjoyed it.
Indeed, it's basically the only part on him left that he can still (scarcely) move. He controls it via a motion sensor in his glasses frame. From what I read, typing like that is incredibly hard, and it can take him up to a half-hour to type and recite a few sentences. I think it's awesome that he could have this experience. One of, if not the, foremost experts on the universe deserves to experience weightlessness at least once, even if it isn't real spaceflight. I'm really glad he could have this experience.
That is awesome, it's great he got to do this - I read "A Brief History of Time" when I was 19 and it changed the way I thought about everything.
I heard rumors that he was a major player with the chicks and was constantly at parties and really didn't care about college. But then when he found out that he has this crazy disease, he got all serious and decided to save the world by going into physics. Which is what he is today.
