My father-in-law is a huge comic book nerd, and I sent him the show synopsis and showed him the pics. He remains optimistic as he is a huge sucker for cheesy, feel-good crap, and for anything DC. He admitted the show had plenty of room for lameness. I think that's the understatement of the year.

As we can see Diana Themiscyra is holding a Wonder Woman merchandise for a scene in the upcoming NBC Pilot.

probably a 2hr-Pilot Movie like NBC did with the "Knight Rider" Remake & "Bionic Woman" Remake in which case the "Wonder Woman" Remake will be cancelled after the first season just like those 2 were.

I'm not even that huge of a Wonder Woman fan and the more I learn about this series, the angrier I get, for some reason.

Well... the colors are darker... the boots are red...
    ...
I harbor no idle hopes for this series.

David E. Kelley's "Wonder Woman" television series has failed to find a network pickup at NBC, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

The series was planned as a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman (Adrianne Palicki) is both a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles, a successful corporate executive (as her alter ego, Diana Prince) and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

The pilot was written by Kelley and directed by Jeffrey Reiner ("The Event") and also featured Elizabeth Hurley, Pedro Pascal, Tracie Thoms and Cary Elwes in the cast. Kelley’s take asked for lots of heart-thumping, contemporary music, and at one point the Boston Legal writer even requested a commercial-free premiere for the pilot if it aired.

NBC isn’t saying for now but scuttlebutt reveals the pilot earned mixed reviews at test screenings. And then there was all the online blow back about the costume – which seemed to de-emphasize the patriotism and play up the comic’s Greek mythology. Ultimately, the wardrobe department went back to the drawing board but that didn’t seem to save the project.

With NBC declining to give the go-ahead, it is unlikely that the comic book adaptation will see the light of day as a series. What is more likely -- albeit, not a guarantee -- is that the produced pilot could be released in one form or another, as was the case with the unproduced "Smallville" spin-off, "Aquaman," which was released on iTunes and sold as a Best Buy exclusive.

Warner Bros. TV may try to shop the pilot elsewhere. But who would take a gamble on a pilot that NBC rejected?

also, Adrianne Palicki was in the "Smallville" spin-off Pilot "Aquaman" as well

I figure it'll end up on the web. Like many other failed pilots. If they want to do Wonder Woman they should do it like the DC direct to DVD.

But if GL does well, maybe this will lead to a good WW movie.

Too much negative buzz killed it. Time to go back to the drawing board.

I prefer to think of this as a total farce in the making that has been killed in the crib. That means it does less damage to the idea of a Wonder Woman live action franchise in the future.
