That's kinda bland. You can buy Doom3 with Doom on it for like $9 now. Even less if you buy it used.
Yeah but $9 for Doom 3 with Doom is still a ripoff.
How so? Doom3 was no Halo killer, but it had a pretty fun single player mode. It felt like an old school FPS. I know the design had too many claustrophobic bits, but overall I enjoyed playing it through twice. Plus I got to play through Doom 1, 2 and Ultimate at the same time.
You can't hold a torch and a gun at the same time. They should totally teach that at space marine school.
What do you mean it's not Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3?
Does THAT bring back memories. I doubt I'd play it much beyond a few games for nostalgia's sake, but X-box live multiplayer will be interesting.
Or, you know, build a gun with a torch in it.
'But in the future everythings bright!'
Doom 3 is getting ported to PS3 right?
Man, I remember playing Doom in a tiny window on my 486 50mhz or whatever it was.
I used to play Doom on my 386, so HA!
My computer was a Wang. Bam!
And id Software, who wrote Doom, was founded by employees of Softdisk Publishing, which put out electronic magazines for the Apple II on 5.25" disks that I still have FTW.
The Star Wars mods for Doom and DoomII were awsome.
Yeah, but did Doom 3 have Doom with online play? Or better question, if it does, is anyone bothering with it?
Wait, this has online play, right?
But you can’t earn achievement points that way. Must have more points!
Can't really be bothered to much with this. Tried out the demo and instictively tried to look up and down. Whooops! This is Doom.
I might as well go back to watching fire burn. 400 M$ points maybe. 800. I don't think so.
I've been playing Doom in the Doomsday Engine sourceport under Windows. It actually manages to make Doom nearly as good as Quake III and Unreal. They're supposed to be adding BIAS lighting and smoothed sector-base lighting in the near future.
my brother downloaded the demo today and we played through the first level 4 times in a row
he beats it in like 30 seconds lol the game is fun! but its like 10 bucks, forget that.
I still have more fun with Doom than with most new FPS games. It's fast, simple, and intense, and doesn't get bogged down with anything heavier or more technical or pretentious than hunting for key cards. The whole experience oozes fast and furious gameplay. A lot of modern games could learn from that example.
