    Atari ;)

    Quoted from Protoncharging.com:

Confirmed! Atari makes it official! Ghostbuster game in Q2 2009!

    Posted on October 30, 2008

Nothing more need be said really - Kotaku, via Variety, is reporting the official word we’ve been waiting for. You heard it here first, but now it’s golden, Atari has picked up the Ghostbusters video game and expects to release it “early Summer” next year (so… June? 8th maybe?)

The basic nature of the deal is that Atari paid Activision an unspecified amount to take the game off their hands (it’s being referred to as a flat fee, which suggests that Activision is cut out of the royalties, but that’s just a guess) and that Atari has arranged a right of first refusal with Sony to make follow-up games, if the first rocks the world.

Nevil and Sean, cheers for the heads up.

    -----

My birthday is in June... early gift for me! Hmm... wonder if I can get some extra cash for promoting the game for the local Gamestop... might be fun to wear this gear a few more times during the year =)

Wow. Fuck Activision. Seriously. Fuck them. They remain, forevermore, on my boycott list.

    Otherwise, great news.

    But fuck Activision.

Well the game should be done, or almost there, so there shouldn't be any reason for them to rush the game out the door.

Man, I hear so many reports about Atari and taking losses during their financial reports. Not my first choice in publishers- but at least it has one now and I need me some Ghostbuster action.

Why the Activision boycott? I can't say I've like many of their games, but there must be a specific reason for the hostility.

Well, Activision is prone to getting IP's like Spiderman and basically making a less then spectacular (spiderman) game that usually is made fast to release with some corresponding movie.

I'm just glad this will finally be coming out. Hopefully it should be totally awesome with all of the extra time that this game has gotten.

Considering the alternative is no GB game at all, I'll take Atari.

In other words, if they can't rehash it year after year, then they don't want it
