Hmmm.... Armada should really be destroyed in a fire. All of it. However.... Jetfire was one of the 3 or 4 armada figs that actually had merit. I had to put my collection in storage, and Jetfire is the lone Armada representative amongst my sparce group of "keepers" that I just couldn't bare to see stored away. Jetfire has two glaring flaws: his head sucks and his legs don't move. Good to see they're fixing one of them. I would have prefered the remolding to go into fixing the legs instead of the head, but I really can't complain about a fix now, can I? Remove the giant Decepticon symbol and the busy yellow trim and Astrotrain is a definate purchase. Leave the deco as-is and it's worth thinking about...
I don't own the original Armada mold so I will most likely pick this up. With that said do the wings in the picture look weird to anyone who owns the mold. Weird by meaning do they look like they could possibly fold up to give the appearence of a bullet train?
The wings fold up...but not in any way that makes it look like any kind of train. It's a good shuttle mode, so focus on that.
Thanks. I know it was wishful thinking but I have been one of the few who have been looking forward to this thing when protos were shown over a year ago so I am not in any way dissapointed. It would have made for a nice extra that got more people interested though. I definately like the shuttle mode too. No pun intended but I will be right on board when this guy is released.
Like the mold and like the colors, but there's just too much other stuff coming out that I want (and not all of it TF related), so unless the price is really good, I'll have to pass. Still glad I joined the club though. Keep up the good work guys.
Will the finished product no longer be a repaint of Armada Jetfire? Or not be a purple space shuttle any more? Tell you what, if the finished product actually turns out to have absolutely nothing in common with this, I'll apologise. Phazer
As exclusives go? It's pretty neat. I'm genuinely taken aback that it's getting a remolded head. So coolies. BUT... that mold is not so great. But hey, it's a club exclusive, and kinda cool, can't wait to see the next one.
It was a good toy in my opinion. The only other Armada toy I figited with more was Tidal Wave. That said, as a club exclusive goes, there is nothing wrong with it being an Astrotrain especially if they get that head. Would I like to see some color changes? Yes. Yellow and purple just does not work. other than that, it looks good. (the huge Decepticon badge gives him a kinda Space Pirate vibe to me so I like it.)
It's kind of cool but the old ideas similar to this one such as Energon Slugslinger as Dev-Con were better. I hope those end up being made somehow at some point. Anyway, it'll probably cost way too much.
Has this years exclusive figure shipped out already? This figure is making me want to join the club, but it doesn't look like I can buy this years exclusive on the website.
One of my favorite molds from Armada! I'm looking forward to seeing the final product and will most likely purchase. It feels like he's been a long time coming. In regard to potential changes, I'd like to see the deco made a little less busy, and smaller faction symbols placed on the wings rather than the big one on top. Other than that, I'm really looking forward to it. And as a side note for any decision-makers from the club's leadership who may be looking at this... even though it was an old 3H idea (I believe), please keep the Fire Convoy as Defensor in mind for a possible exclusive. There was a LOT of positive response to that.
One of the club's polls on the member forums is whether to keep the big symbol or do a smaller one, and currently the poll is almost 2 to 1 in favor of keeping the big symbol. Was kinda suprised by that... Solid wings beating out translucent ones in the other poll, by about the same margin, 2 to 1.
The big symbol doesn't bother me in the least. The ONLY thing that could make this better is if he somehow used a Force Chip... even if it's just a weapon or SOMEthing... But yes... it will be mine. Also gives us hope for SEACONS! Chris
