I got to thinking, Hasbro's done a few crossover TF lines, but what if they made a line that had transforming versions of vehicles from lots of different franchises (movies, TV shows, comics)? Rather than the robot modes being supposed to look like the characters associated with the vehicles, they could just include little figurines of the characters and make the robot modes look like normal Transformers.

I know this would never actually happen, but what would you think of a line like this? To keep things simple, each figure would be approximately Deluxe class. They'd probably sell for about $15 (a little more than normal to cover licensing), and since they'd probably be more collector-oriented than mainline TFs, they could be a little more detailed. The line could be something like this:

    Wave 1:
-DeLorean time machine (Back to the Future Parts I and II)
    -Mach 5 (Speed Racer)
    -Batmobile (1966 TV show)
    -Ecto-1 (Ghostbusters)
    -Police Spinner (Blade Runner)

    Wave 2:
    -Tumbler (Nolan Batman films)
    -Aston Martin (Goldfinger)
-Ford Falcon Interceptor (Mad Max) (black version)
-General Lee (The Dukes of Hazzard)
    -Herbie the Love Bug

    Wave 3:
    -Batmobile (Burton's Batman films)
-Lotus Espirit sub (The Spy Who Loved Me)
-DeLorean Time Machine with 50s wheels and technology (Back to the Future Part III) (this is here just because Hasbro would undoubtedly want to do repaints/remolds)
    -Lightcycle (TRON: Legacy)
-Ford Falcon Interceptor (Mad Max) (red, yellow, red and white version)

It's not a bad idea, but the 1966 Batmobile should be replaced with the BTAS one.

    Not going to happen.

Besides, no way will VW allow Herbie to be made. Same reason Bumblebee wasn't a VW again. Nazi guilt. TF is a 'war' toy.

Yeah considering Disney, marvel, and star wars cross overs are all hated by transformers fans I don't thinks that's a good idea

Well, the only reason we hate them is that most of em suck ass. Granted, it's not an easy task to have something that's not supposed to be a transformer end up being a good looking transformer without losing to much of its previous character, but eh. That's why I'd sooner have a more subtle approach that was simply a homage of sorts to something outside the fandom, rather than something that's literally trying to transform into super hero.

... but yeah, I'd totally be down for a MLP crossover.

$15? Hahahaha, the licensing on those things alone would make them miles more expensive.

The first Starwars Crossovers actually did come with little figures of the characters. So that concept is not unprecedented.

It probably wouldn't, but I'd still buy a Delorean transformer that came with a little Doc Brown figure. Especially if the Delorean turned into Wheeljack.

That was why I said that they would turn into normal robots rather than TF versions of the characters. Basically, they would just be homages, except that the vehicles would actually be licensed, so they could be more accurate. The robot modes would look just like normal TFs from the Classics line.

Well, at least we get the odd one like TF Prime Cliffjumper that manages to look like a Challenger/Cuda even without being licensed haha

Hey don't get me wrong I own most of the crossovers except for disney label and that's due to price.
The problem is crossovers have never been done by the main TF team and they lack the engineering experience or understand the "look" that makes these things cool

Yeah. Hopefully, any more work done on any crossover lines (if we get any) will be done by the main TF team.
