I'm selling off a load of retro games stuff to fund a TF spending spree. I've already splurged a load of cash (TFP Voyager Bulkhead, Deluxe Arcee/Ratchet/Starscream and MP-11).

MP-10 is possibly the next on my list though I'm also tempted to save and save and make the plunge of either the TFC Hercules or Maketoys Giant.

    Question is, which one?

I see that a revised version of Hercules is on the horizon that irons out the production issues with the first run. But then the pre-order for the green Giant also looks amazing.

It's a lot of cash and I really don't know which to go for!

Depends on which one you like more. If they fix a lot of the issues with Herc then that would be pretty cool.

However Herc is a lot pricier than Giant. And for me I couldn't justify that extra cost. That's why I'm going with green Giant.

Whichever one you like better dude

Seriously both. This means a lot coming from me since I don't normally support third party products.

A Devastator display is quite impressive.

Aye, that's the obvious answer I grant you. I'm just keen to hear from folk who've actually handled the pair of them so I can make a more informed decision.

If you're looking for people who have both, you're in the wrong forum.

This belongs to the KO/not-transformers/third party products forum.

I'll be getting both soon enough.

It boils down to which one you like most...I own Hercules but I did a LOT of wheeling and dealing and ended up only paying $300 new for mine...you doing the same by selling off items is the smart way to go...

To me Herc and Giant both look nice...overall Herc is larger and Giant is smaller...it just depends on which one you think looks better and fits in with your collection best...

Maybe not right now, but I'm sure if you want both "enough" you'll find a way ;)  As for my opinion? I decided not to choose and am vested in both. I like the aesthetics of both actually. I already have Hercules, have set A for the yellow Giant, with set B in the mail. Saving up for the green Giant as we speak.

I put all my Devastators in one shelf as well. I need another Herc as constructions for my decepticon shelf. I hope the price really sinks.

Oh I'm sure fellow board members would be willing to work something out with ya. As I'm sure you've already seen, some are trying to get rid of theirs for botcon cash, bills, etc.

300$ MISB shipped. Lower if possible. :D

Just to go back on topic, I love both bots. Herc for the height and overall look and Tiny for the bulky proportions.

I have Herc and have the yellow Giant ordered. The first 2 packs should arrive in a few days. Most of Hercules's issues have been resolved via replacement parts but newer moldings should have the fixed parts already installed. My Exgraver had the fixed shovel with it instead of the faulty one.

The decision should be made based upon what you're looking for. Are you looking for a revamped G1? Get Giant. Are you looking for a new interpretation of Devastator? Get Hercules. I can't make a final decision on which I prefer yet because I don't have Giant in-hand to compare to yet but it has alot to live up to. Hercules is HUGE. He is heavy, he is solid, he is mean looking. He embodies Devastator. Giant may surpass him but I can't make my final decision until I have the whole thing in hand. Tough decision though, I feel for ya. :)

Yep, Hercules kind of feels like the more obvious choice, unless of course Giant can be had for significantly less. Over here in the UK it seems both the V.2 Hercules and Giant can be pre-ordered for around £300

I'd put this simply as the following:

If you've Bruticus witht he Fansproject addons and you ideally want something around the same hight, get Gaint. The question of Green or Yellow depending on if you want G1 or G2.

If you don't have Bruticus then Herc is an amazingly detailed toy and towers over your classics like he should. He's basically an updated huge version of the old G1 Devy only cooler. But he's more costly than the Giant.

Me I went for them both, I wanted the G2 version of the Giant to both go with my Fansproject Brut and be ordered about by my G2 Classics Megatron who looks rather sucky against my Maketoy upgraded G2 Classics Prime.
