Also keep in mind that when the Falcon first came upon the Death Star they were more than likely pretty far away, so seeing a large round object in the distance using their eyes, it would be believable that they would think it's a moon.

Just looking at the pic I had NO idea our moon was THAT big! For some reason, I had thought the Death Star was at least the size of our moon.

Not really to scale, since comic Unicron is the size of Saturn (as someone else already said). And it isn't in scale with the movie (unless Grimlock and Megatron are just a tiny bit smaller then the Death Star). Still sweet though.:thumbs2:

I don't see how this changes the fact that the Death Star can BLOW UP PLANETS!

That was always the reason I would say that the DS would kick unicrons ass. It would just blow him apart.

The way I see it a Star Destroyer is more like an aircraft carrier, in that it is for transport and can dispatch fighters (this would be in its favor). A Starfleet ship is a self contained battleship not a carrier. I think any Starfleet ship would need help fighting off a Star Destroyer and all the fighters it could dispatch.

That depends on well protected Unicron is compared to a normal planet. Unicron isn't a dirtball covering a molten core. He's a machine made of an alien metal. The reaction from the Death Star's laser isn't going to be the same as a planet or even that of a capital ship.

Well, the key thing to remember is that supposedly, the power of the matrix is the only thing that can permanently destroy Unicron. He can take surface damage (at least to his eyes), but maybe he can regenerate or some such thing. So the superlaser might blow a hole clean through him, or outright blow him apart, but then he might reform, dust himself off, and make a light snack of the Death Star, avoiding its angle of fire.

    Unicron!

I can't believe this is even being considered! Unicron is a God that can change living beings metalic or flesh into completley diffrent beings. Remember...... ( The matrix.. "It is the one thing.. the only thing.. that can stand in my way!")
Unicron can tear planets in half with his bare hands ...... and swat entire space amardas into dust!

I always knew the Death Stars were no match for Unicron.

I always thought that the moons of Endor and Yavin were Earth sized moons like some of the ones around Jupiter.

I really hope you mean the size of earth's moon, Jupiter's largest moon (Ganymede) is 41.3% the size of Earth, and just over 2x the size of our moon.

Jupiter's other "major" (or Galilean) moons range in size from slightly smaller than our moon (Europa) to just a little bigger (Io) and then there's Callisto and the before mentioned Ganymede, both which are roughly twice the size or our moon.

According to the official Japanese Production Art for TFTM, that guy's Unicron is 1/5 the size it should be (he has it at 1000 KM).

    I just whipped this up:

Unicron should be 11,101 KM in diameter including rings and 5390.37 KM in diameter if it's just the core planet.

Which means the death star is like a speck of dust compared to Unicron - still it's an end to the argument, you should send that pic to the guy who made that web page!

Unicron could just reformat the death star into a giant transforming chicken.
