It depends on what you mean by "street stupid." Most I've met could easily survive in the wild for a week or two, but would be picked off pretty easily in a tough part of town because they'd stick out like a sore thumb.

I forget that not everyone here is the same age as I am and that as a board about toys there are probably young posters here.

Still, while not "every" kid is a pussy, we are sure as heck undergoing an epidemic when kids are no longer allowed to play dodgeball for fear of hurting someone's feelings.

No shit, and it's 100% true. No dodgeball because of the pansy parents that claim johnny got hurt while playing and scratched his elbow. You know what's going to be next? A randomized system for picking teams so no kid is picked last!

 

Heck yeah. Dislocated my pinky playing back in elementary.

That probably didn't make me tougher, but actaully being one of suckier kids at it, most definitely did.

 

I don't think kids these days are pussies. I teach at a private school, you know, where everyone is stuck-up at snobby. Nope. I've seen them play soccer in playgrounds and the 'loser' of the game has to stand facing a wall, and everyone gets a go at pelting the ball at his ass. Sometimes there are fights around the school, a few per month, and someone always ends up with some gashes.

 

Whats next, and this actually IS becomming a reality.. is that there will be no more tournament style competing.. ie no championships/playoffs where players are awarded victory. ie no more winning and losing, just playing to have fun.

Its been being tried, and tried. Fortunately the MAJORITY of ppl out there are still rational and sane.

 

In todays day and age it would be hard to tell the difference between a kid wielding a gun if it is real or a toy because the way our society is today compared to the 70's-early 80's when i was a kid it was almost unheard of hearing about kids with real guns.

realistic toy guns should not be made available. i wouldnt want my youngest son running around with a realistic toy gun, maybe 20 or so years ago when things were different.....but not now.

my oldest son runs around with a real gun......but thats cause hes serving our country in the Military
