I seen the movie several times and I am always wondering what kind of ammo does the Transformers use in the live action movie. Do you know?

You'd have to check the toy bios to get an idea.

Such as Bumblebee's cannon is a "Plasma Pulse Cannon" if I remember right from the ROTF packaging.

Dude, Ironhide's rockets are glowing red and blue, and are about the size of small truck, now tell me what kind of Earth ammo we have that looks like that? :lol :lol :lol

I'm guessing Cybertronian Ammo for all the TF1 Autobots...

Jazz uses some type of a machine gun in the first movie, when Ratchet and him are fighting Brawlastator.

This is atually addressed in the sequel comics

for physical ammo like bullets - they grow them - a bit like we grow fingernails

I believe that the bots are energy based, same with the cons mostly. SS had missiles and mini guns, so did Frenzy and Brawl. No idea where the ammo comes from as to be a nerd about it, if they can spontaniously regenerate ammo they should be able to self repair etc.

The comics have them regenerating ammo over time.

Ratchet fired both bullets and energy blasts during the final fight.

Ironhide launched missiles from both arm cannons in the final battle, and fired an energy shockwave when Sector 7 arrived to apprehend them.

I always wondered how IronHide dodged those missiles. They should have went "boom" as they skimmed by.
Any half decent primitive earth missile doesn't even count on hitting the target. A proximity fuse sets off the warhead when the missile is "close".

    How do they do that:

for physical ammo like bullets - they grow them - a bit like we grow fingernails

    How is that possible?

Bayformers are nanomorphs according to production designer Jeff Mann, except unlike the T-1000, they can form complex objects like guns.

One thing I wondered though...Except for Blackout, who wiped out the whole base with his energy-based guns, pretty much all Decepticons seem to rely mostly on Earth weaponry while fighting (machine guns, missiles)..but the Autobots all use big fricking energy weapons!

Since these are probably more powerful than simple Earth bullets, don't you think it should be the other way round? :p ...

Its not just about fire power. Remember, the bots and cons have been fighting for centuries, they have adapted themselves to energy based weapons with special armor and gadgets.

Just like how the army had the advantage over Scorpanok (sp?) during their battle with human weaponry because his armor wasn't adapted. The decepticons would also have the upper hand.

Plus, the Cons alt forms had more weaponry already, while the bots had to create they're weapons from their bodies.
