MPAA Kills Town's WiFi Over One Movie Download - Tom's Guide
Fuck you, Sony.
Sony would, too. Fuckers.
Reminds of how they one the Blu Ray/HDDVD war.
"Support Blu Ray in your stores, or we'll take all of our movies and the movies of the numerous companies we own out of your stores."
2nd: real nice, sony.
Sony needs to get the sand out of it's vagina.
I knew by the title it was gonna be that story and yah Sony is ass
Wait guys!! But Sony needs more money, so much more money that pissing off a whole town is irrelevant. But in the end they showed us, huh!! We'll never go and illegally download some movie that isn't even worth the three dollar rental fee at the local Blockbuster, will we guys!! And we'll keep buying Sony products too!! It's ok for them to do that, they are after all, a big company. And we are merely mortal fools pricked by the puppet strings of mega-big conglomerate company-gods who deserve every electronic table scrap they allow us.
...where's Lars Ulrich when you need him.
End of Line
Yeah, bloody Sony, trying to enforce copyright and protect their legitimate profits! Fuck those douche bags!
Master of Puppets, I'm pulling your strings! Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams!
Wow, that's a bit overboard, isn't it?
Someone point me to where this is Sony's fault. All I see is the MPAA up to its usual draconian punishment schemes.
I was referencing that, and the whole Napster bullshit fiasco.
"GO SELL A PRICELESS JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT PAINTING FOR MORE MONEY, YOU DOUCHE NOZZLE" -R_P
End of Line
I didn't realize that the MPAA had such control over the internet. I guess you learn something new everyday.
I love my country. We don´t have to put up with this kinda of shit.
It's what happens when understanding and legislation on copyright and the internet fall behind the technology. The MPAA is just the loudest guy in the room.
I can't even see where the MPAA have done anything. Looks like the town shut down the service by itself as it didn't want to spend the money on putting adequate measures in place to prevent the service being used for illegal downloads. Only person to blame here is the twat who broke the law and screwed things up for everyone else.
I agree and the stupid thing about what the MPAA is trying to do is that it won't stop people sharing music, movies and etc even if the manage to some how stop people from doing it over the Internet, the sharing will still happen off line like it did before the Internet made it easier, its a bit late yo put the cork back in after the genie has escaped, all that can be done is minimize the free sharing of movies , music and etc
Haha, that's awesome. Rock on, Sony.
Sony I love your TVs and game systmes, but really?
You suck ass, sony.
Thank you for correcting me. I guess I incorrectly filled in the blanks between the inexplicit network disabler and the following MPAA commentary.
Still, I think this situation highlights the fear and misunderstanding about copyright, and the predatory tactics groups like the MPAA have used. It's really a shame that an open public network was euthanized to sidestep a potential lawsuit.
